FYI..A few months ago I purchased a set of TV Ears to replace a set I had for 6 years until the batteries gave out. The new set lasted about 60 days until one ear hanger broke at the base. Since they only guarantee for 30 day I purchased a new set. Yesterday the new set borke the same way. Again beyond the 30 day limit. I called the company and they told me to just be careful with the next set I buy. I offered to send back both sets so that they could see what the problem was so they could avoid it in the future and I was told don't bother because they would just throw them away. Just venting!

Wow, sorry to hear about your bad experiences. I've been using them for years and as you know they are great for those of us with hearing difficulties. I too just purchased a new set a couple of months ago as the old one had pooped out. Fortunately I haven't had the problems that you encountered. I have them in my Villages home and also in the NJ home and LOVE THEM and have recommended them to many people based on my experience.

What are TV Ears? I always thought they were for getting local channels better, but didn't think that they had anything to do with the audio. Are they like the things that you put on your ears to hear the sound better without disturbing others? How do these work. Thanks for any info. Might be useful for DH.

TV Ears is a device that connects a transmitter to your TV audio output and wirelessly sends the audio to a headphone-like device you wear. It allows you to move around a limited area and hear the audio portion of the TV show. My mom got two pair, one for the living room and one for her bedroom. Otherwise she had to play the TV so loud she couldn't hear the doorbell or phone.
We had some trouble with the device initially, but the company took care of it.
I understand the OP's displeasure with the customer service and products he bought. But I wonder if threads such as this one could be re-titled to something like: Problem with TV Ears customer service. Or similar. It still alerts readers to a potential problem without the blanket statement to not buy/use a product or service. As seen in posts on other products/services, there is a second side to the story and others may not experience the same problem.
