Man down with EMS helping

I was coming home from Lake Sumter Landing tonight about 7:45 and on the road directly in front of Cody's was the Villages EMS working on a man laying in the middle of the road. I could not get a good look at what was happening but he was being prepared to be transported by the ambulance.

Does anyone know what went on with this situation? It did not look like he was hit by a car as there was no car stopped nearby.
