A Beetle (car) question

My wife just moved to the Villages and are loving it. When we came we brought my wife's graduation gift, a 1974 Beetle Bug with us. We have always had great luck in finding a good mechanic (usually a crusty older guy who just loves old volkswagens) to keep him in good running order, but being new to the area we are having a bit of bad luck locating such a person. I suppose a dealership might be a possibility but, we were hoping for a personal recommendation. Anybody have any suggestions?

I would suggest you ask some of the car owners/mechanics at the next car show at SS. I would bet you will be talking to the mechanic of your dreams before the night is over.

The VW were so easy to work on but do need constant maintenance. Like brake adjustments.

EPA vehicle emissions killed a great car! My Dad had a 67 Yellow Convertible. Michigan and NYS Salt returned it to nature! RUST and ROT- Sad!
