Some thoughts to ponder. With the Election of 2012 coming not only is it for the president but it will include many congress seats. With the retirement of some democrats and the response that people will not be willing or want to vote democrat will leave the congress mostly republican and if Obama wins reelection a democratic president. This will really bring down this country because you will have nothing being done fighting amongst the government. It would appear that we could be in for a real mess in the next few years. If this does happen we as older citizens my never see the end or recovery from it. Now with the history of the last few years with the government ( all of them) out of control and out of touch before you vote next year we must set down and think is a democratic president going to be good for this country or republican. Granted it may have been a republican that helped get us here but it was a democrat that helped get us in deeper. I'm not picking on dems or rep I just hate using the name O---a. With the currant administration I think we are really lost. Gingrich came up the road with Reagan and if he really wants to get this country going he will use Reagan's policy. We had a balanced budget with Reagan heck we had a budget .We know most political people are mostly liars but we can only hope. So in short be very calculating when voting this year it may be the most critical election of history. Don't respond with party bias respond with honesty.

I lost the good feeling for Newt with the Niagara Falls bit yesterday. Maybe Mitt can do the job.

to paraphrase something I read yesterday...the only difference between Repubs and Dems is the speed with which their knees hit the floor when corporations knock on their door, that is the only difference. Doug,it really does not matter anymore.

WE the People, lost control of our government with the passage of the 17th Amendment. If you don't know what it is look it up. All of us have been asleep at the wheel and now we are paying the price for not looking after our country. No matter who wins, to get this country back on track is going to take lots of pain for ALL of us. So hang on, the next few years are going to be a rough ride.
