Any ballpark costs on auto insurance in the villages. I'm paying 4G a year in an urban area in Pennsylvania and 1700 in Homeowners. Coverages are both collision and liability with the liability limits at 500K. 500.00 deductable. 2009 GMC Arcadia and 2007 Honda Civic. Hear auto insurance is cheap in the villages.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. We are with Allstate and our cost for insurance came down from what we were paying in NYS. To tell you what we were paying would be misleading because there are several factors that go into determining what you wind up paying. i.e discounts applied, your credit rating, the company covering and the vehicle(s) your insuring.
What I would suggest are two things. One to get more than one estimate and compare them. We got three. Second compare the quotes to what you were paying in the state you came from. These are probably the best things you could do in you search for coverage. Happy hunting! :)

Since I have the same insurance company I can see the difference easily. With USAA I paid $283 every six months for full coverage in Maryland. In Florida my rate is now $477 every six months.

Thank you John W. That's the kinda info I was looking for as far as savings when moving to the villages. A neighbor is in Naples and he was bragging about the insurance savings. Here in Pennsylvania there is no tax on pensions but it looks like I can save on auto and homeowners.
I turned to the forum as I did not want to waste an agents time for quotes as I am two years away from any move to the villages.

For comparison shopping, write down the exact coverage items, levels and options that you want, and provide the list to each company. We did this by email. Otherwise, each company quotes on their own particular defaults, so you can't properly compare them.
