Hi, are there any music venues in the surrounding area where you can see Folk or Blues bands?

I guess nobody goes outside of 'TV' ?
We are thinking about buying in TV, seems like an awesome place, or one of the other 55+, and we love to go see our favorite bands, just wanted to know if there are any good venues. I guess I will do my own search, thanks anyway.

On campus, bobby Blackmon blues band plays at several venues... At the Lighthouse restaurant tonight, has played Katie Belles and the squares.

Folk music...I have been to a concert at Church on the square that included former members of new Christy Minstrels.

There is also a folk music club that plays and/ or listens to that genre of music.

Can't help you with off campus locales....

McCalls at Spanish Springs has blues bands several nights/week. We went there for NY and had a blast with a great blues band.

Katie Bells has good bands regularly. Doc Holiday is playing Wed. 1/11 which is a great southrn rock band.

Look in the paper daily or at TV website (under entertainmnet) and you'll find most all music in TV.

And of course live ent. every nt in both squares.

There are a group of folk music players that get together & jam at Lake Miona Rec Ctr on Mondays @ 7:00 and a similar group of Blue grass players that jam on Wednesdays @ 1:00 @ Seabreeze Rec Ctr. We've been to both and they're quite good & entertaining.

Silver Springs in Ocala has many big name musical stars through out the year and a annual pass cost is about $55.
