Am taking possession of our new home in TV 6 January. Without having to invest in a complete home security system, which I don't think is necessary in TV, I would like to enhance the locking devices / security on doors / locks, etc... I am not skilled enough to do the work myself and I have searched the web for a lock shop in the area to no avail
Can any of you kind folks give me any suggestions on who might provide this type of work around TV? Thanks in advance for any suggestions or information; see you soon!

was the guy that Brian Freitag, of B&J builders used to coordinate the locks for us when we did the reno with him. 1-800-742-8746. I would not hesitate to use anyone Brian recommends.

HOW TO INSTALL A SOUTHERN HOME SECURITY SYSTEM...
1. Go to a secondhand store and buy a pair of men's used, size 14-16 work boots.
2. Place them on your front porch, along with a copy of Guns & Ammo Magazine.
3. Put a few giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazines. *
4. Leave a note on your door that reads:
Bubba, Big'un, Duke, Slim, & I went for more ammo and beer. Back in an hour. Don't mess with the dogs - they attacked the mailman this morning and messed him up bad. I don't think Killer took part, but it was hard to tell from all the blood. Anyway, I locked all four of 'em in the house. Better wait outside.

That's my kind of security system and don't forget the NRA stickers. Smiling in Buttonwood...

On a more serious note, there are some very effective security systems out there. Vue has a popular system that has small video camera(s) with motion detection that will alert you of an event by sending a text message. You can then sign on to the Internet to see a live feed of what is happening. This type of system alerts after the intrusion and I think would work best for snow birds. This is just an example of the many inexpensive systems available. For an inexpensive deterrent, in our previous house we purchased ADT window stickers as well as a fake dome camera ( less than $10 ).
You can find many more security systems on amazon.com below:

I'm not suggesting we should have a false sense of security in TV, but we feel more safe here because of the neighborhood layout and most of our great neighbors live here year round. Nonetheless, we have taken measures to deter someone from burglarizing our home.
IMHO, common sense is a critical element in any security system. Good luck!
