Good morning, I likely should have asked this question before purchasing a home but I was wondering what the form of government governs The Villages.

Is there a city council, mayor etc.

Thanks

The one thing I've not seen anywhere is. Who determines who sits on the ccd? Elected? Appointed? And if appointed by whom.

Excellent question. From what I have observed as a wannabee, TV has a very "interesting" form of local/municipal government for a community of 80,000+ residents spanning 3 counties and still growing in population.

You'll see lots of complaints on other threads about the developer having so much control and so many profit centers here.

In the end, looking at results, there's no place as well-planned and constructed, pristine, fun, and that provides so much recreation and entertainment as our $135/mo amenities fee does.

If only our state and federal governments would use our money so wisely.

It is either a monarchy or a benign dictatorship depending on whom you ask. It is not a democracy.

Works for me.
