Need electric golf cart advice

I need some advice. I was considering getting a new electric Club Car, but after driving a friend's cart, I realized how slow it accelerates from a stop. It also seems to lose speed on an incline. Is there anything that can be done to improve the acceleration of a Club Car. I understand the EZ-Go does not have this problem because it uses an AC motor rather than a DC like CC. Any advice? Club Car has a test track where you can take a test drive. If I were to buy an electric cart, Club Car would be my first choice.

My wife has a 2010 E-Z Go AC electric and it beats the neighbor's electric Club Car in all ways: distance, pick-up, hill climbing, headlights and ride. Some of the early AC's had controller problems but that seems to be solved.

I test drove multiple models of electric cart before purchasing the ezgo rxv with ac motor. I took them over the cart bridge crossing highway 441. The ezgo was the only one which would accelerate going up the steep incline of the bridge.

Another vote for EZ Go...I test drove most others but ended up with a 2010 EZ Go & love it!

I've had my Club Car for eight years, it a great cart. It does die a little going up hill but I still think it's a great cart. Not that you would buy one for resale but, I think it's on the top of the list for resale as well. I was told when I first got down here, if you buy gas get Yammaha, if you buy electric get Club Car.

We have a 2010 Club Car and a 2010 EZGO RXV. If I had it to do over again we would not have a Club Car but 2 EZGOs. The EZGO is perkier and does not slow going up a hill. It also slows electrically when you let off the gas pedal. Got mine at Town and Country GC near Spanish Springs. They will check your batteries and tire presure free when you stop by. They even fixed my torn enclosure (my fault) no charge.

I test drove all the electric carts, had a older Club Car - bought gas cart from Carts & Clubs a few month ago and am overwhelmed that I made correct choice.
If you do go electric, go with Club Car

I am not just singling out you Bosoxfan and maybe I am thinking of someone/something else as I cannot find the thread any more. I recall a bunch of TOTV RXV owners were fed up with the new EZGo's they bought in 2009. These issues obviously have been resolved.

You mind sharing what they were?

I always liked the way the AC RXV accelerated, but shied away when it was new in 2009.

We own a 2010 EZGO 4 seater and love it. It has plenty of power even when we load it up with 4-5 adults. We bought it new from Town & Country in Spanish SPrings and have had no problems with it so far. We are here part time and drive the heck out of it when we are here. We have put on 3000 miles and have had no issues at all.

I have a cc 48 volt and it does well. It's also 10 years old! I played at baseline and they had Yamaha gas carts. I'd never have a gas cart after that experience. Slow no acceleration, loud and smelly. Maybe because it's a public course the carts aren't the best, but I was really disappointed.

When we came for our lifestyle visit in 2006 I rented a gas cart from TV cart store. It was a poor experience. The cart was slow and the ride was bumpy as if the tires weren't round. I took it back and got another one, but it was only slightly better. When I turned it in I told the salesman the cart was a poor advertisement for the Yamaha gas carts. He informed me the carts that are sold to customers are much better than the rental ones. Having ridden in some with other golfers, he was right. They are much quieter, faster, and smoother than the rental I had.

I got a loaner gas cart when my electric cart was being worked on and it was better than the one in 2006, but still not as good as the ones they sell to residents.

I have a 2012 EZ-GO RXV and they can be purchased, test drove, and maintained at their two locations; rte 101, and just South of rte 44 in Wildwood. They have a range of just over 50 miles when you upgrade to the 6 X 8 volt conversion.

Anyone who tells you Club Car is a better choice in electric knows nothing about the NEW RXV's. They recommend 12 inch tires for a smoother ride, and the automatic brake is an outstanding feature for golfers especially.
