You're going to hear every president takes vacations......blah, blah, blah.................
Every president also has secret lavish Halloween Parties with Hollywood Stars dressed up in character.
Every president takes his wife on a date from Washington D.C. to New York city at enormous public security protocol expense. (He's such a good husband)
OHHH; and we're only saying this because we're hateful racists.
OK all you lefties, I did your work for you. You can get back to the Bill Maher show now.

IslandGal did not leave a link to the video she talked about so I do not know the content.
I definitely do like her "tagline" of 'Rescuing one cat may not change the world, BUT for that one cat, the whole world will change.'
Keep it up, IslandGal.

You republicans are so pitiful. President Obama has lowered taxes, brought the economy back from the worst recession since the great depression, saved the auto industry, ended the war in Iraq, killed Osama bin Laden, and all you can criticize him for is taking vacations? I'd rather have him take vacations than get us into an unnecessary war that cost $800 billion and cost 4500 American service member's lives. He must be doing a pretty good job if that's all you have.

It's not even the money nor expense of the vacations that bother me.
It's the ATTITUDE.....their middle finger held up to all taxpayers who expect government and elected politicians to live within their means!!!

I guess that also includes the republican leadership of the house of representatives that scheduled one work day in January, even though the democratic leaders have been there ready and willing to work while John Boehner and his cohorts have been traveling through South America.

Meeting with South American trading partners is not a luxury vacation for the family.
"Washington (Jan 9)
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) is leading a seven-member congressional delegation to the top three export markets in Latin America, with stops planned for Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico. The delegation will hold economic discussions with leaders of some of America’s most vital trading partners – nations that collectively import billions of dollars annually in products made by American workers. The visit, which comes at a time when the U.S. economy continues to struggle, will focus on jobs, energy, and economic security issues. Boehner issued the following statement on the delegation visit:
“The mission of this visit is to help strengthen ties between the United States and our regional trading partners to support further economic activity that will help create new American jobs. I look forward to discussing issues of mutual interest, whether it is jobs and the economy, energy, or trade, with leaders from these three nations.
“Of note, the delegation will focus on assessing the implementation of the new Colombia free trade agreement, which is critical to job creation in the United States; conducting face-to-face discussions about trade and other economic security issues critical to job creation with senior government officials representing America’s top Latin American trading partners; and examining security measures being taken by Latin American countries to modernize their societies and create a better environment for jobs and economic growth.
“In the coming weeks and months, the House will take action on the American Energy & Infrastructure Jobs Act, which will link expanded American energy production to high-priority infrastructure projects like roads and bridges in order to create more jobs. The delegation also will focus closely on energy issues – studying the economic impact of pro-energy domestic policies being implemented by nations such as Brazil, and visiting with American energy producers forced to create jobs overseas by excessive Washington laws that keep most U.S. energy resources on federal lands under lock and key. We look forward to a productive visit........”

Because of Speaker Boehner's trip, the house can only work one day in January? Correct me if I'm wrong, but President Obama has never started his vacations until congress had adjourned.
What other job can you have that pays $174,000 annually and you only have to work one day in January and zero days in August? And takes one week off for every two weeks of work?
I hope there's a lot to be gained from Boehner's trip. No where did I see the total cost to taxpayers.

I was wondering the same thing Rubicon, considering that Obama has done none of those things. The Iraq war is ending on Bush's timeline, and that's a fact.
You can make the case that he OK'd the military's action against Bin Laden, but he didn't kill him in a literal sense. The military found him while Obama was president, how fortuitous.
(I remember the grumbling in Bill Clinton's camp about how lucky Bush was that 9/11 happened on Bush's watch and not Clinton's, depriving the Clintons of the world's stage for a historical response to the attack)
As far a the economics?; what a joke. The country's economic fortunes are in the crapper because of Obama policies and you, Janmcn, think this is wonderful, marvelous and just peachy keen?

Oh, you conservatives are all alike. We can cite all good accomplishments for the current administration and you will downplay each and every one of them.
If President Obama personally found the cure for cancer, you would probably say it is a job killer taking all the jobs from doctors and health professionals.
Just get used to the mantra: Obama won re-election in 2012.

You are correct. Any high school civics student knows congressmen make $174,000 annually. I forgot about the last raise they gave themselves.

Tell you what buggy; if he finds the cure for cancer I'll join you in praising him.
All I need you to do is to join me in praising him when he finds the door marked "Exit".

In a few months, The Weeper of the House, Johnny B, will be a back bencher again - then he can take all the trips he wants.
He'll even be able to make Happy Hour every day.
November can't get here fast enough ...............

Good news to a con;
- starting another war
- cutting taxes on the wealthy
- Dow dropping from 14,000 to 8,300
- Bin Laden plotting more attacks.
You're right, there is no good news
