Everyday I look at my app on my iPhone for weather in the Villages. Today it says 73 and sunny. Just to think....I could have sandals and shorts on running around on my golf cart. Instead, I'm wearing jeans, winter boots and winter coat and I'm slipping and sliding on foot while walking into the grocery store. The big trucks are out sanding and salting (good for my new SUV). TV, I can't wait to become a FROG and soak up some sun on my lily pad!

We had the same thing this morning - not a bad storm as storms this time of year go, but just enough to be a PITA.

You won't have to put up with it much longer. :)

I have a nephew who lives in the Boston area. When I read about such weather as you describe happening in his vicinity, I take great pleasure in e-mailing our conditions!

He is never happy about that! :icon_wink:

My daughter in St. Louis is likely to e-mail me the conditions there, to remind me of what I'm missing.

Remember: there's no such thing as a snow shovel here in The Villages!

Wintry conditions in CT but it wasn't bad getting to work this morning.

Unfortunately, a Mustang hit the guard rail on the street where I work.

I am looking out the window and seeing a small accumulation of snow. I hope it don't freeze tonight.

When my son first moved to Fl, he would call me when he knew it was snowing and greeted me with, "Welcome to Paradise".

We all know you don't have to shovel sunshine. :)

Right now it's 47 degrees in Syracuse. The next four days are going to be crappy, but 47 degrees on a mid January evening is downright balmy. I've run my snow blower only twice this winter - and I may be jinxing myself, but so far this is the mildest winter in my memory. I just read that our average snowfall at this time is over 56 inches. We've had about 14 inches so far this year. When the palm trees start growing here I'm coming back, as I love most everything about this area. But until that happens, I'm going to retire in TV. It's TV in June or July this year or bust!

every time I complain about rain in the summertime, (or anytime) my husband ALWAYS says "you don't have to shovel rain".

Those lake affect snows can be brutal! My sister in law moved from Buffalo to Saratoga a few months ago. We've dodged bullets this year with the snow so we shouldn't complain!

We go from one extreme to another. Sleet, snow and freezing rain has stopped and now the wind! We have 3 iron rocking chairs tied together and covered on our back patio. They were in the center of the patio as of last night. This morning I wake up and they are blown off the patio and onto the grass! That's some strong winds to move 3 iron chairs tied together. Combine the wind with the 29 degree temperature and burrrrrr......

We have the same stuff some 150 miles to the south.

32 deg with 50 mph gusts.

BRRRRRR is right !

and it's only January. Two more months of "official" winter to go.

At least we don't have to shovel the wind :)

Wintry mix due on Saturday, high 36 low 24. Point well taken this winter has been good up till now but some people complain that it's too hot in Florida during the summer.

I say, "what is the difference if you have to stay in a/c for a while or have to stay indoors for the winter because it is too dang cold". I am not a fan of winter.

Bring on the warm weather of TV. :)

:agree: 4 to 8 inches of snow fell in Chicago today depending on what area you live in. Traffic has been bumper to bumper on the Chicago area expressways for the past few hrs. Many flights at O'Hare and Midway cancelled or severely delayed. I left work at 11:00 this morning before the roads got bad. I am not a fan of winter either!!!

5 to 7" inches in CT. Temps in the twenties and teens. Probably will be icy conditions. I have stayed inside as i don't want to deal with it.

Plan to clean off car tomorrow. Rain and in the fifties Monday and that will be good but who wants to deal with this junk anymore.

NOT ME!!!!!
