After looking for who might have written it, to no avail, I like many others decided to pass it on because it does contain some very possible scenarios (like it or not):

Half the folks on here are paranoid already. They need no conspiracy theories.

Let's take a look at that second paragraph:

The quality of the Republican candidate doesn't matter. Obama gets reelected. Nine percent unemployment? No problem. Obama will win. Gas prices moving toward five dollars a gallon? He still wins. The economy soars or goes into the gutter. Obama wins. War in the Middle East? He wins a second term. America's role as the leading Superpower disappears? Hurrah for Barak Obama! The U.S. government rushes toward bankruptcy, the dollar continues to sink on world markets and the price of daily goods and services soars due to inflation fueled by Obama's extraordinary deficit spending? Obama wins handily.

9% unemployment? Nope. It's trending down.

$5/gal gas? Well, it was $4 under Bush and just rose from $3 to $3.25 locally.

War in the Middle East? Well, at least we're out of Iraq. Afghanistan is where empires go to die, it seems.

Government bankruptcy? Well, Obama's annual deficit is less than the one Bush left him but it's still atrocious. Europe being in a bigger pickle is *really* giving us some of a pass on this.

The dollar sinking on world markets? I don't think so. When my daughter did her semester in Europe, the Pound Sterling was $2 and the Euro was $1.65 - I should know since I was transferring money to her. Today the Euro is at $1.28 and the Pound Sterling is at $1.54. Again, wrong on all counts.

Rampant inflation? Again wrong.

The author may have the right conclusion - an Obama re-election - and the text does say "what if" but it is also written to give the impression that the author thinks all of that will happen.

To me, the biggest enemy of the Republicans are themselves. Watching all the candidates cry foul because Romney is rich is irony on a scale rarely seen - since the Republicans were the ones defending the rich "job creators".

It all depends on who's ox is getting gored.

DPlong is right on with his posting.

The Republicans are grasping at floating straws while all their candidates are struggling to stay afloat.

this thread wasn't started to promote R or make light of what a D might see in it.
Face value...no between the lines...no hidden meanings...forget the author...forget defending to the 3rd decimal point...it was the rationale most of which is possible and hence notable that is the point of the thread.

It seems there can be no issue/thought/thread/what ever that can escape the auot defense mechanisms or the partisan snipping.

There's no mystery here. It's obvious who wrote that. I've read all of that on this forum of ours.

All we need is the guy to 'fess up.

C'mon Buggy, I know your writing anywhere..........'fess up.

It does sound vaguely familiar to me too.
