Many TV resales include the emblem "Certified Pre-owned." What does it mean and how do you obtain this certification?

as either the buyer or the seller elsewhere. Peace of mind, but still doesn't necessarily cover everything. You should still get a good home inspection, at least IMO. Usually sellers pay for it to give their home an edge in the resale market, but I have seen buyers purchase it also.

When I moved into my re-sale home about 2+ years ago, it came with a 1 year warranty on just about everything. This warranty was purchased by the seller. It covered the heat/ac, roof, plumbing, appliances, electrical, etc. I did call the a/c warrantor just before the 1 year was up and had the system checked out just to make sure it was still in great working order.

I also had an independent home inspector check out the house before I settled on it. There were a few things including a problem with the irrigation system that the home owner had to fix before settlement.

Home warranteed houses are a great idea and is a great selling point to advertise.

Ours meant that it was certified that some certifiable owner used to live there
Actually it has some warranties attached but I agree, a good home inspection will "certify the certified"

Buggyone's right. the homeowner purchases a 1 year home warranty for about $300. Good peace of mind for the buyer.
