That would be me. I have been in rehab several times but the total number of my posts betray me.

Welcome to you. There are many fine folks who will soon be your friends.
Here's a wish for many happy years here with us in Lower Paradise.

Welcome, Steve!

Rule #1 for visiting TV - Bring your checkbook!
You just might end up finding a home you like sooner than you think! (Don't ask me how I know! And many others understand this rule as well) :icon_wink:

Steve, if you get the urge to buy sooner rather than later, don't fight it! It will be one of the best checks you've ever written! I am guilty of writing that check sooner....not looking back.

I am a dual citizen. There are lots of Canadians and there is even a Canadian Club. I lived in BC for 26 years, now is Seattle, my husband and I bought a home in TV but we are not there yet. Where are you from? You will love TV. A different way of living.

A special welcome from another Stephen a.k.a. Steve. I'm always anxious that folks respect the 'formal' spelling! I hope you are, too.

Some of the guys in this forum may think that I'm an "old fogey." Maybe because I've been in TV for 7 years! I'm proud of that, 'cause maybe I can offer a word or two of wise counsel!?!?

You won't be sorry!....Played golf with a Canadian today, and both of us were taking turns praising The Villages......Good good people, wonderful weather (75 degrees today) 29 exec courses, 10 championship courses and ooooodles and oooooodles of fun.....I'm also an addict of TOTV, whatever you want to know there is someone on TOTV that can give you GREAT advice....Today at Spanish Springs (one of two townships now, with another on the way) had a Cruiz-In, soooo many antique cars that there was an overflow in the parking lots and a bizillion Villagers....This place is the best thing since ice cream! Now get your butt down here!

Thanks for the intro, Stephen, and welcome to a forum that was a godsend for us when we were considering purchasing in The Villages ( TV ).

Prior to buying in December, 2010, we were able to learn so much information from this forum that allowed us to maximize our Life Style visit. Although we arrived prepared to buy, we both agreed that if we weren't wowed, we would come back at another time in the future. Well, we were indeed "wowed" in the first few hours and then spent the next several days looking to purchase our piece of The Villages dream.....and we found it.

Take advantage of all the lessons learned that forum members will share with you. The TOTV members certainly helped us and we are here to help you and others with questions you will, no doubt, have about TV. After all, we all have been there at one point in time.

Again, welcome!

Welcome to TOTV, my Canadian neighbor.

If you write a clever or interesting post, you may be lucky??? enough to win the coveted SPOTD Award.....that would be SWIMDAWG Post of the Day Award.

I'll be looking forward to reading your posts...aye....or is it eh?

Hi Steve and welcome to TV. I have a special message I've been asked to pass on to you:
"Hello Stephen! I'm sorry I cannot address you directly. They don't allow me to have or use a computer in here. They don't even allow me to use any sharp objects. I understand Stephen that you're interested in coming to TV and to eventually live here. I hope to ea... ah, I mean meet you some day!

I'm not going to tell you Stephen, to bring your check book with you; I'm not going to tell you how great TV is; I'm not going to tell you Stephen just how much you're going to love it here or that you'll find a whole lot to do. I won't even tell you how wonderful the people here on TOTV are! Why... you may ask? Well the answer is simple Stephen. Everybody else has already told it all to you for me.

You may want to know how I feel about you coming to TV, or at least you should be Stephen. People have moved here without being concerned how I feel about it. Well Stephen, I'm afraid to say that they are no longer with us. Matter of fact they are no longer anywhere! With you however it's a different matter. You seem to be an interesting person who would fit in with the lifestyle found in TV. I don't think you'll have a problem Stephen, in fact I'm pretty sure of it. Besides Stephen, TV would be a less interesting place without you in it. Enjoy!"

Sincerely yours,
Hannible Lector
So Steve, it looks like everythings going to be fine and you'll be an accepted member of the community... maybe!

Hi Steve,
Welcome to The Villages! There is another club organized by Canadians called the Loonies and Toonies Club. They get together for social events, golf, trips etc.
Enjoy The Villages!
It's like Disney for older folk;-)
