Newt is saying what people want to hear right now, so don't count him out as a viable opponent for Obama. He is old school, but he has my vote should it come to that and I AM IN THE MIDDLE on most issues. Newt has the message to hit several grand slams in a presidential debate. This country is not as concerned about an individuals bedroom habits as they are for the wellbeing of our future. We are in trouble and Newt is just the kind of politician to put our wheels back on the track.

How many of you Republicans remember that Newt also caused the Federal government to be shut down twice that ended up costing untold millions of dollars because we Federal workers got paid for every day we were sitting at home while on furlough?

I actually did not mind getting an extra 6 week vacation with pay. We knew all along that we would be getting full back pay.

This was just political grandstanding by Newt and the Republicans that cost untold millions of taxpayer dollars.

the Newt pot is where those who dislike the religious aspects of Romney and Santorum could file their votes. For them it was a safe way to uphold what ever it is they believe, knowing the Newt is not going to be in this race for the long haul.

Newt won better than 40% of the share of SC votes from evangicals and from women. So what we do know is that in S.C. 40% of SC voters were not overly concerned about Newt's personal life.

However, they seem to be concerned about the sincerity, or lack thereof concerning Romney's message. Romney is going to take a walloping once his tax returns are out. He has stashed millinons upon millions in the Caymans'. He has multile million in tax deferred IRA's . He only paid 15% on his taxes owing to it being primiarly investment income. He was pro-choice as governor of MA, raised taxes, implemented RomneyCare, a model for ObamaCare. RomneyCare is said to all payment for abortions. I do not know if that is true????
Romney IMHO is a RINO.

The three main issues are growing the economy re-setting our defese/offense (foreign) policies and repeal of ObamaCare. Romney has never admitted RomneyCare was a mistake, despite the grim stats coming out of MA. all he had to say was it was a failed experiment. He did not.

Nobody is bringing up the fact that MA was the first state in the country to approve same-sex marriage under then Governor Mitt Romney, so I will.

....."Romney IMHO is a RINO."

Better a RINO in the oval office than an AINO (American In Name Only).

Romney announced today he will release his tax returns and estimated 2011 one this week.

What has not been mentioned much is what I heard him say in an interview with Hannity on the radio on Friday:

When Romney ran for governor of Massachusetts in 2002, he put all of his assets into a blind trust which is still in place. In other words, since 2002, Romney has had nothing to do with where his funds have been invested.

Romney confirmed that he does not know what the investments are or have been. He does know that in 2008, there was one investment that had accounts in the Cayman Islands because his trustee was asked about that during the 2008 campaign. Other than that, Romney knows nothing about the Cayman accounts. Indeed, Romney cannot tell us why his tax rate is at the level it is, since he does not know the source of essentially all of his income.

I tried to get the audio clip from Hannity's website and Friday's show recap, but those clips are in the paid membership section which I don't have.

In the end, either Romney or Gingrich will do a great job in office because they are smart, EXPERIENCED, "Can Do" people who are eager to get in there and lead this nation out of the peril it is in.

As for their mistakes and yes, sins, of the past, many people do change course when they learn from their mistakes. Much of the so-called "flip-flopping" is merely evidence that they learned from their mistakes.

So far, I haven't heard Obama express a single shred of regret that he sat and absorbed the Hate Whitey and Hate America screaming venom of the racist "Rev." Jeremiah Wright for 20 years. He said he didn't hear any of that. Bull.
