Does anyone know if I can get to Sam's club by golf cart from the Villages? I live in Amelia.

You can't legally or safely get to Sam's Club on st. Rt. 441 by golf cart.

You can get there provided you have a street legal cart.
Rolling Acres road is a 35 MPH street, go across 441/27 and turn right toward Home Depot continue straight behind HD to stop sign and turn right then left into Sams or go thru the Best Buy center by Arbys and then cross over 441/27 at the stop light straight to Sams.

There appears to be some controversy about whether Lady Lake has authorized street legal golf carts to use Rolling Acres Road. I would check Lady Lake PD before doing that.

My cart is not street legal, so I am looking to get as close as possible if I cannot get there directly, I'm just not sure where that would be!

Best to use your car. Street Legal Carts are folks with death wishes, Sorry. I see to many folks here this time of year that use Stop signs as only suggestions to stop. I saw two rentals getting ready to cross 441 the other day and they did not have a clue as to what could happen to them.
My opinion and only my opinion is everyone should have to pass a safety course and driving skills course to operate a cart.

I've seen carts parked at the Jeffery Gate and people walk to Home Depot. I wouldn't do it if I had to carry a lot of stuff. But, if you want to, you come across the golf cart bridge across st. Rt. 441 and turn right at the stop sign at the dog park and continue around by the lake and drive up the road (I think it is Griffin) and take a left to come back into the first gate, turn right on Tarrson and go to the last gate and park.

I dunno 'bout you, but I couldn't fit my typical Sam's Club purchase in a golf cart. Best take a car...

Have never seen golf carts in the SAM's parking lot. You could call the Lady Lake police and ask them if it's possible....though I doubt that you can do it!!

Thanks to everyone. I don't have a car with me, so I think I might try the suggestion about going over the bridge at 441 and parking at the gate nearby to Home Depot.

You can also get to Walgreens, kattie-corner from Panda Express/Home Depot. Morse, R on Rio Grande, R. on Aveneida Central and turn R. at Fiesta Bowling into Target shopping, go up to Walgreens, park and walk 1/2 mile. You'd have to cross 441 on foot, very far to go on the cart, but doable.

Hi Phantom,
I will be renting at The Villages in Belvidere with just a gas cart and no car. I figure I can rent a car when I need one. Do you do okay with just a golf cart?

Or, save yourself a lot of heartache and muscle strain and call and use a taxi to get you there and then one to get you home with your purchases.

Never seen a golf cart [street legal or otherwise] in Sam's parking lot.
Just go to Walmart...6 of 1; half a dozen of another... same stuff and sometimes less expensive at Walmart

I agree. And at Walmart you don't have to buy 140 rolls of toilet paper.

Actually, we have seen street legal carts at Sam's. Just rarely, and always left us scratching our heads. We've also seen street legal carts on 466 between Rolling Acres and 441, and between Rolling Acres and the Sumter County line. We also saw a regular cart driving on the sidewalk along 466. It appears some take the "Street Legal" thing too literally or are the victim of bad advice.

We take our street legal cart to Sam's all the time. We simply go through the parking lot with Target, Peir 1, Petsmart, etc., cross Rolling Acres (over by 5 Guys), continue through the next parking lot, and cross at 441. We can legally cross Rolling Acres and 441, but we can't drive on them. Never had a problem, but just like driving anywhere in/near TV, it is important to drive defensively.
.... Street Legal Carts are folks with death wishes....
It's the same death wish that the majority of regular cart owners have when traveling on Morse Blvd., Avaneda Central, etc. with nothing more than a painted white line between them and runaway trucks and trailers barelling by at 40mph, less than a couple of feet away.
Sorry, but your logic escapes me.

Street Legal carts are required to be registered and have a current license plate displayed are allowed on any street with 35MPH speed limits or less, can cross faster streets at controlled intersections according to Florida law.

Based on the above, why all the discussion about street legal carts?
