These were fascinating to me and I think they will interest you too!.

The first 44 photos in this collection are pretty amazing, but photo #45 is a real eye opener.
I had heard that these guys existed but this is the first time I had ever seen a photo of them.

I don't know where these pix have been but some are absolutely brilliant and brutal at the same time.....

@islandgal, thank you for sharing a collection of photos that show a such stark and rich history. There are 20 parts, or collections of photos like this in the link you provided. Have you had an opportunity to look at the other collections? I know what I'll be doing with my morning coffee. There's something about the contrast in black and white photos that I've always loved.
