Just reviewed several threads on installation of Lanai windows and the pro and cons of acrylic vs. glass inserts. Also have looked at several postings on recommendations for contractors and did not see one on Creative Vinyl Systems “CVS”. Attended their presentation yesterday and was curious if anyone has used them for this type of project or for the design and installation of a bird cage. Have a CYV and want to better use the Lanai and the outdoor space. Will get other quotes from some of the many referenced contractors (thank you for the names and contact info) but would really like to know if anyone had any (good or bad) experience with CVS.

If you get acrylic windows you will have more heat in your space. The sun warms the acrylic windows and once they are hot, it is hard to make the space cooler. Even blinds or shades won't make a huge difference. The key is to keep the sun off the acrylic from the get go, maybe an awning. If you get glass windows, your space will still get warm, but shades will make a much bigger difference.

I used Elite Lifestyles. They use heavy grade aluminum and glass and did superb work

I had CVS install sliders on my lanai last year.....I wanted a more energy worthy option than some of the single panel or acrylic windows available. Took forever to get them even though we thought we had an installation date [storms backed them up] Then some damaged was noticed after payment the installed needed the day of installation. Finally got Phil [owner] back with company rep to inspect....promised new screen etc which we have never seen a year later but did finally get a replacement bar between the doors after a second try as the first one was cut too short. No replies to phone calls or e-mail.....Product OK if not damaged but customer service stinks!! By the way,
He had the highest quote I had received but thought the product was better when deciding.

My best recommendation is to be sure to get low-e glass. We have single pane and solar shades but the heat is tremendous. Thinking now I need to have the windows tinted and hopefully that will help.
Our lanai was enclosed when we bought our home so can't give you a recommendation; however, be sure to ask to see the permit.

We used Custom Windows and Exterior Design in Leesburg to install slider windows with a privacy screen on our lanai. We also had the privacy screen installed per their recommendation. The installation was on time and flawless. We would highly recommend them. PM me if you would like to see their work. We live in the Village of Charlotte.

We had our lanai enclosed by Custom Windows & Enclosures in Leesburg.
They have a showroom off 441 a short ride from the Villages to see all of your options and if you go there they will give you $100 coupon towards having the work done. Our work was done last Monday and we are thrilled. We put in floor to ceiling sliding glass doors that stack 4 panels into 1 so you get 75% of your original air flow. We also ordered the heavier sun shade screen and low tint windows. We are in a Gardenia and so far if we open the bedroom slider and the 12'stackable sliders in the living/dining area the a/c is cooling the lanai with help from the ceiling fans. It was 4 weeks to get the materials and then they book your date. 5 hours to complete the whole thing and you keep your original screen in place til the day the work is done so you don't lose use of your lanai while things are on order. Very professional and neat workmanship. We also used the one year no interest loan.

We used Custom Windows & Enclosures in Leesburg too. Ultimately, it came out fine. But the process, and getting things corrected, and the long-many phone calls-where are our glass sliders-experience would prevent us from ever recommending them. And after two months, not three weeks as promised, they were installed with mud all over them, and the window in the outside door they installed fell out, and the site was left dirty with small pieces of glass--well you get the idea. An unhappy experience.
