Closing on our house Feb. 28th and will be looking to buy a new gas golf car and we are trying to decide between Yamaha and E-Z Go. Any recommendations?

They say if you want gas then go Yamaha. Now with electronic fuel injection it makes more sense than ever. I got a 2010 Gas Yamaha and love it.

Our Lifestyle visit came with avery slow, loud and smelly golf cat that even backfired in the tunnel.
Are the new fuel injected Yamahas faster, quieter and not so smelly?
How about a GEM car?

Thought GEM was only electric and street legal. I like it. I'm leaning towards the GEM and the Tomberlin. But I have a year to go..:ohdear:

We bought a 2010 EZ-GO electric 4 seater new two yrs ago. I absolutely love the cart. No problems whatsoever. We travelled over 3000 miles so far. We have the 4/12 volt batteries and thing that the few batteries affect the range that we can travel, probably 40 miles max before a recharge. More batteries would increase the range. But if you are thinking a gas cart, the Yamaha is the one to beat. Especially now that the new models are fuel injected that should be a plus.

Just bought a 2009 Yamaha reconditioned gas cart. Looks and drives like a 2012 but a lot less money. I'm real happy with it.

I've been looking at the 2011 Yamaha cart. From what I can tell the fuel injection option is around $500 additional. It is supposed to get better mileage and quieter. I wonder if it is worth the extra?

If you're wanting the new fuel injected version, make sure you specify that when you're buying. I believe they're being marketed as 2012-1/2 models. The 2011 and early 2012 models are carbureted.

Probably a little early in the game to be getting much actual feedback from retail buyers on what they think of the carts. The EFI is definitely a positive thing from my perspective, though.

We have a 2011 Yamaha gas cart and have not had any problems, but I wonder if the EFI would eliminate the necessity to add Sta-Bil to the gas. If I was looking to buy another, I would definitely check out the EZ-GO with the on-board gasoline generator. That seems to me that this could be the best of both worlds. Electric cart, but with a generator to charge the batteries in case you get too far from home and run low on juice. You don't have to run the gas engine all the time, but only when you need it.
