Both maps are up for discussion. This is what these folks do for a living..put this stuff out, and NEVER need to be responsible for errors.

There is such a long time to go.

I am interested, assuming Romney is the nominee, how the general campaign will be conducted.

President Obama, by ALL standards ran the most negative campaign in the history of politics in 2008. I think Romney was forced to go negative in the primary.

What will be interesting how each campaign approaches this. I hope they stay cool for awhile anyway....when they go negative the debates lose so much because instead of trying to concentrate on platforms, they try to repair whatever image loss they perceive.

I think, and hope, that the public have awakened....I think, and hope, that the media will not protect the President. He should never have been elected, and I will be the first to admit that the Republicans did not help with their nominee, but I have not changed my mind from 2008 when I said he was dangerous to this country, NOT intentionally...not speaking ill of the man himself, but his immaturity and inexperience have shown so much the last few years. He continually goes back to his roots as a community organizer, which in his defense is the only job he has ever really had.

If the media stays out of it as a cheerleader, unlike 2008, I think at this point it will be a very close election. There is so much time to go however, but having said that, not much unknown about either guy at this point.

Bucco, don't count on the media not being Obama's cheerleader. I can't emember the media ever being neutral much less for the Republican nominee. Wish I felt that what Obama is doing wasn't intentional.

President Obama won't have to go negative in the upcoming election. All he has to do is replay the comments by the republican candidates in the primary and play them over and over on a loop. I don't think it's going negative to quote your opponent accurately.

He ran, with no contradiction, the most negative campaign in american political history in 2008. That is an irrefutable FACT !!!!

Secondly, your suggestion then in hindsight, is that the Republicans should have just replayed ALL THE VERY NEGATIVE comments by Secy of State Clinton during the primary.

In that case then Reps only need to replay what Obama said during his campaign in 2008 to show he then did the opposite of what he said and campaigned on, except Obamacare, but that won't help him this campaign.

Is Obama "un-American" for his defecit increase? Do we have Gitmo? Do we have jobs?
We have increase exports to Mexico, Guns that is!
He has help prove that the alternative energy industry is no where near ready to "transform America fundamentally". We also learned that the 99% can camp illegally in parks and monument areas but earning money is bad!
We have learned that we as a nation are lazy, lost our edge. We have learned that we are NOT exceptional but rather more like the rest of the world, not leaders.
Those are just the tip of the iceberg of the things that the Reps need to highlight.
Yeah, He has been a great President. Can't wait for four more years of that.

Don't forget that around 55% of American voters voted for Obama and they were tired of George W Bush. Bush's approval rating when he left office was only 23% - much lower than Jimmy Carter when he left office.

Negative ads or not does not matter at all. Remember demographics:

Most blacks will vote for Obama; most Hispanics will vote Obama; Democrats will vote Obama; most college educated women will vote Obama; at least half of Independents will vote Obama; most minorities will vote Obama; most young people will vote Obama.

Total it up - President Obama wins again.

My apologies. It's the only time I've ever seen the mainstream media cheerleading for a Republican Presidential Candidate.

I mean, 'they' dubbed Clinton "The Comeback Kid", so there's clearly been cheeleading going on for more than that one instance.
