Must have missed the Romney part! I got so board with the video that I nearly fell asleep before the first (or is it the second) commercial.

He made fun of Gingrich, he made fun of Romney, he made fun of Pres. Obama, and he made fun of us. That's his job.

Sorry, but I thought it was hilarious. Maybe I have a demented sense of humor, but I believe that if we can't laught at ourselves, we can't laugh at anyone else. He's a comedian and he made me laugh, so he earned his paycheck.

I thought it was funny too. All of it. I love political satire no matter what party it is. And TV is funny because it is so unique, we are ripe for comedians. I even laugh when I tell people about it because it is so special no one believes me who has not been there. And it was true about the parking....

I WAS aware it was Comedy Central.

It may be a gender difference in what we think is funny.

I don't like for anybody not to see that Seniors are the same as anybody else...only smarter.

How many years you got left, bub???

Death adjacent, my fanny!

The funny thing is, we are all "death adjacent," no matter what our age. Death follows life, there is no getting around it.

I have to agree with you.Somebody once said "Dying is easy, comedy is difficult."Some humor on the subject,Jon Stewart would be proud........"I want to die like my father, peacefully in his sleep, not screaming and terrified like his passengers."Got to go , i have to fill out my immigration applications:)

Tried going back again to see if I could find the humor without falling asleep this time, but they obviously keep changing the video clips since the one I was watching yesterday was not the one that started playing today.

I watch the Daily Show every night and it is funny! I received so many texts and phone calls from friends and family about the 'Romney' episode (most of them have been here and know this is an active community).

I was wrong. I was wrong. I was wrong.

I have had the oral surgery now and I don't feel so crabby.

Did I say I was wrong? It is beginning to be a little bit funny.

No right or wrong! Different things in life make us laugh...just as long as we laugh! Why don't cannibals eat clowns? Have a great day Gracie!

No right or wrong! Different things in life make us laugh...just as long as we laugh! Why don't cannibals eat clowns? Have a great day Gracie! When you say "different things in life make us laugh" you weren't just whistling Dixie! I finally found the episode and got to see it in it's entirety, and I can honestly say it didn't make me chuckle even once, not even in my mind! I found it to be dull and no where near being as fair and balanced as has been suggested in a previous post; a little perhaps in a token way, but not much. However, I can understand that others find humor in it especially when I've seen people laugh on America's Funniest Home Videos at such clips as a toddler who has mucus flowing out of their nose or other clips that have equally grossed me out. I remember years ago hearing someone (a comedian I think/hope) say something like this... 'I find no humor in the thought of my dying, but the thought of your dying is a different matter!' Anyway, at least I didn't nearly fall asleep this time.

BTW, cannibals don't eat clowns because they can't digest the humor!

I'm in my 70s and young at heart and watch him regularly. I especially love it when he goes into his rather frequent Elephant bashing routines which I'm sure is in large part what the multitudes of Villagers don't find a bit funny.

P, to me, that kind of humor smacks of making fun of people because of their condition, much like making fun of someone who is retarded.

I think that perhaps the years that separate us does make a difference in our sensitivity to this subject.

Wow, I must be young, hip, and I know I have a sense of humor!!! I loveeeeeeeeeeeee Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert! Never miss either of them.

Making fun or light of the human condition has always been part of a comedian's repertoire! Nothing new. Don Rickles used to (and still does) cut people to shreds!

I think Stewart is brilliant and knows wayyyyyyy more about our politics and what's going on in this country than most of the deadweights in congress.

The Villages thing with Romney was hysterical. Romney's singing was pandering to the Seniors. Maybe that's who you should take issue with.

Great idea! Why not watch FOX News instead to get it just the way it really is; straight forward, unbiased and bipartisan!I agree, and that's exactly why Fox is so continually high in the ratings. As surprising as it is, even the Huffington Post won't deny that. If you go to Huffington Post (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/03/cable-news-ratings-top-25-primetime-programs-october_n_1074052.html#s451523&title=1_The_OReilly)you'll find that they've reported that the top 8 programs in the rating were all Fox News. Even the Factor's rerun later in the evening is within that top 8. IMHO, I have no doubt that what you've stated is exactly why they're so marginalized by adversaries!

This discussion is straying into political territory and the thread might have to be moved to the restricted political forum.

It appropriately originated in the "Villages General" forum as it involved depiction of our Villages community in a national media outlet. We had hoped it would be able to remain in the General forum. Time will tell.

Go to the bottom of the first page and click on search forums. It is about half-way down, marked The Villages, FL Political Talk. I would welcome you to the political forum since I am vastly outnumbered.
