We put a contract on a new furnished patio villa in the Sawgrass Villas section in the Village of St James on Groundhog Day (2-2-12). We close on 2-22-12 and are very excited. This was our third visit over the past three years and we couldn't go back to Maryland without making a purchase. We will be seasonal residents for now. We have made great use of this forum to educate ourselves and have found it to be an invaluable resource. It almost seems like we know many of the frequent posters. I would like to thank all the posters for their frank and honest comments about life in The Villages.

Congrats on the villa. My wife and I moved full time to The Villages from Silver Spring (Colesville Rd & New Hampshire Ave) about 2 1/2 years ago. You will not regret one day of your decision.

My husband and I closed August 11. We also live at St James. We are part timer from Burtonsville MD.

We closed and moved in Wednesday. Even though the patio villa was furnished, we have been running all over getting necessities. It has been fun, but we have hit the sack early after busy days. Again, this forum has been invaluable to us in every decision we have made.

I have to agree about hitting the sack early after running around. When we were there a few weeks ago, and after meeting with the designers on the house (which was exhausting but fun) we had about 1 1/2 days to hit the furniture stores. At about 4 o'clock, we were so tired. Couldn't wait until bedtime. It takes a lot out of you. We realized we weren't 30 anymore. Enjoy your new home!
