I played golf today at Glenview and we must be near a full moon as the group had two issues.
I showed up to check in, parked the cart in front of the pro shop and did the old 'pat the back pocket’ to check the wallet and all I felt was ***. No wallet, no ID. First time for me, so I was not positive how they would handle. I walked into the pro shop practicing full grovel, when I see my favorite manager Steve (yes I am still sucking up in case Steve reads TOTV). I took the ribbing I deserved like a pro and in some time Steve acknowledged he did know me and they let me play. In case this ever happens to you, I have been told, no need to rush home, most places will let you pay FULL price, then return with your ID after the round and they will credit you the difference.
So here I am feeling pretty silly when the fourth in our group shows up. He comes from Calumet, so he comes in by the driving range. He says hello to us, he and his partner agree that he will drive and he goes off to check in at pro shop. Upon his return, as his partner is loading up his stuff onto the cart, his partner asks him “where are your clubs”:shocked: They were in his garage! He had to go back into the pro shop and rent some.
I can only imagine what the staff was thinking about this foursome….:ohdear:
Anyone got any “I forgot my….” stories better than those?
Those are going to be difficult to beat!.....LOLOL!

My mother forgot ME at the grocery store when I was a baby and sleeping in my stroller.
She realized her mistake after getting home.
That's the story I heard growing up.

Probably a couple of days or weeks. :) Probably needed the rest.
Seriously, it was immediately as she was very upset.

At one of the first real estate closings I had, once I got to the bank for the closing I realized that I had forgotten to tell the buyer that he had to bring money....you have NO idea how stressed I got...absolute panic. To make it worse, the owner of the property was an agent I worked with. As it turned out, the buyer had his accounts with the bank that was doing the closing and it went perfectly smooth...I don't think anyone even realized that I had totally screwed up!

Picked up the "ole boy" from his clinic for lunch one cold afternoon, dropped him off at a local store, ran my errands, ran back to the clinic, sat down and asked the nurse "where is the "ole boy".....Oooops!....Needless to say you could find him easily, he was the one with steam rolling out of his head (which incidently was keeping him very warm!!!!!)....giggle!:MOJE_whot::MOJE_whot:

My youngest son was 3 yrs. old at the time.
We had company the weekend of our town fair. We traveled to the fair in two cars because I wanted to leave a little earlier to get dinner started. I left and was home for about an hour before my husband and his brother and wife got home.
Another hour went by and it was waaaay toooo quiet in the house. I went and "KIDDINGLY" asked my husband "Are you sure you brought Michael home?"
He looked at me and said "I thought you brought him home!"
I screamed...almost fainted...they ran out the door. Back to the fair where they found Michael, happy as a clam, eating pizza, drinking pop (soda), riding the rides with the nice policeman. He knew we'd be back looking for him.
The funny thing is...the first thing I taught my kids was their name, address and phone number. Michael knew all the information and, I guess, he chose not to share it.
I have to ask him about that.....

That's the story I heard growing up.I guess the next thing you'll be telling us is that the doctor slapped your mother rather than you when you were born! :duck:
I guess we all got stories of forgetfullness. Mine was several years ago on a day I was working in one part of Albany NY and my wife in another. At the end of the day I was supposed to pick her up at work. Well I got all the way home before I remembered and had to go back to pick her up... round trip nearly 40 miles. :boxing2:
Well I'm happy to let you know that she finally relented and allowed me to move out of the dog house. She had to or I wouldn't have agreed to buy here in TV.

I worked in a building that had badge readers and you had to swipe your badge to get in. When I got to the parking lot, I realized I had forgotten it at home. No problem, just wait for somebody you know to show up and they will let you in. A friend of mine showed up in about 3 or 4 minutes and I stopped him in the parking lot to let him know I needed him to wait so he could let me in. Told him I just needed to grab my bag with my laptop. I opened the trunk and no bag, no laptop ! I forgot that also and it was still home. He just looked at me like I had lost my mind completely. I had to drive the 18 miles back home. As I left the lot, I looked in the rear view mirror and he was just cracking up.

Hubby left his 5 iron twice and it was found and returned to him both times by the same foursome. The guy who returned it to him said when he came upon it the 2nd time he wondered if my husband was trying to get rid of it!!! All in less than 18 holes of golf... And that pat of the backside for the wallet is a ritual he does miles down the road going someplace. On occassion its not there but resting comfortably at home

While working at MGM Casino, I had to follow a VERY strict dress code..including black or brown shoes. I threw my uniform into the car and didn't realize until I got there that I had forgotten my shoes. I had on a pair of gold wedge strappy sandals (you ladies will understand:) ). If I had to go home to change I would have received points (a bad thing) and no pay. I did, however, bring a pair of black trouser socks. I pulled the socks on over the sandals and worked all night without anyone noticing! What's that about necessity being the mother of invention???

Interesting! You posted this message at 4:30 in the morning and you stated you played golf today. My question is... do your golf balls glow in the dark? (Oh how I wanted to omit the word golf in my question) :1rotfl:

Yes, 4:30 in the AM. That's the time stamp on your post and no I didn't have any potential posts. But-but-but... I do appreciate a sense of humor and do take you're post as being funny. As for malice, isn't that what they used to served wine back in the Medieval period? {hic}

We did something similar. Took 2 cars to neighbor's house for dinner. I left first and husband got home a few minutes later with son. No daughter. I thought you had her, no I thought you did. We drove back (about a mile) to find gutsy 3-yr-old trying to walk home in the dark. OOPS.
