Don't be surprised if you see a speaker at CPAC wearing a white, pointy hood. It's that radical. :ohdear:

I am a conservative Republican and I agree with you. I would like to see a relaxing of the GOP mindset, but I don't see it happening in my lifetime. Conservatives have the right message, but they just want it for the select few and that will not play in America. It is sad the way a certain few will defend the right wing conservative movement even in the face of undeniable wrong doing. If you cannot admit that improvement is needed and that everyone falls short of perfection, then you cannot begin to move forward. Just like drug or alcohol addiction, you must first admit you have a problem.

But, I will continue to try to drag my conservative friends into the light.

DaleM-- What a ridiculous statement!! Some historians say tht the KKK was started by Democrats. Read Dr. Francis Rice: KKK Terrorist Arm of the democratic party. Don't forget that Robert Byrd was a Grand Dragon in the KKK.
VillagerII--- If you are a conservative, which you are constantly proclaiming, then I'm Eli Manning.

What's up Eli. Nice game the other day. I am a conservative republican, but I do get tired of the right being positive they are always right and Dem's are always wrong. That is the mentality of two groups of kids in a playground fighting over who's turn it is on the swing.
And your right Eli, the Democrats started the KKK, but like everything else, we republicans decided that we could run it better.

VillagerII--Don't forget it was the Repubs who helped LBJ get the civil rights bill passed. Al Gore, Sr. was a big segregationist, as well as other prominent Dems. People who think socialism is the answer, even though it has failed everytime it has been tried, think if the right people instituted socialism it would work.

What do you think Medicare is? What is Social Security? Are the Scandinavian countries failing? :ohdear:

Medicare and SS are socialism, absolutely. Which party started them. I have lived in Europe, but not in a Scandanavian country. I have visited them though. If you think their standard of living is as good as ours I have some ocean front property for sale, in Kansas, if you are interested.

You don't have to convince me that Republicans are the way to go. I have been a Republican all my life and only stumbled one time when I fell for the Yes we can speech in 08. I am back in the flock now and plan to stay there.

This is a funny thread. It should be in the Just For Fun section.

The mmoderators don't want any political references outside of this forum.

DaleMN I lived in Memphis and worked the states of Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas for 5 years some 15 years after the civil rights movement. I knew I had arrived in the deep south when on my first day I stopped behind a black pickup with a gun hung on the rear window and a bumper sticker that said "I'M proud to be a KKK'er.

As I recollect those folks didn't care if a person was Democrat or Republican but they did pay close attention to a person's religion and whether you were white or black. Needless to say catholics were very low on their hierarchy.

Villager II You seem to be wrestling with being a republican. It seems to me that the party of exclusion is more Democrat than Republican. It is Democrats that place conditions on every aspect of our lives and it is Democrats that operate on a dichotomy.

I opine you folks decide

Scandinavian countries are sitting on a wealth of oil...and better yet, smart enough to be tapping into it!

I will take any Republican over the Leftist democracts. Even Romney is an improvement. I like Santorum best of who is left, though I thought Bachman would have been great. Heard her speak at Tea Party rallies in D.C. and at the March for Life.

The democract party wants people to think ther is something bad with being rich, with saving on taxes, etc. Well, why do people move to FL, to save the State Income Tax! Warren Buffet makes a salary of only $100K a year, rest he gets in stock. So, naturally, he has a low tax bill. Ross Perot has all in Muni bonds, pays no taxes. So what! instead of complaining about them, to what they did.

Seems like The Villages is full of Leftists. How many of you subscribe to Rush 24/7? listen to Hannity and Levin? Watch Fox News Channel and Fox Business Channels?

This is the sad, tragic mentality and appeal of class warfare-It's OK for "me" to be wealthy or earned wealth. If it is not "me" then they are greedy SOB's...

Is this how a person talks who genuinely wants our nation to be UNIFIED, and not divided????

And if you're going to bring up KKK as if it were the scheme of conservatives and republicans........

"Condoleezza Rice was a Democrat until 1982, when she changed her political affiliation to Republican, in part because she disagreed with the foreign policy of Democratic President Jimmy Carter, and because of the influence of her father, who was Republican. As she told the 2000 Republican National Convention, "My father joined our party because the Democrats in Jim Crow Alabama of 1952 would not register him to vote. The Republicans did."
