and outright lie.

So here's the anointed one's new budget. It's a total scam that does nothing but add to the deficit. The cuts he lies about are only slight reductions in the rate of growth, no cuts. This coming from the man (so called) that said he'd cut the budget in half his fist term (yet another lie).

Then his chief of staff (twice former budget director) comes out and blames it on the Republicans and says (yet another lie) that it takes 60 votes to pass and they can't pass it without bipartisan support in the Senate. He said it repeatedly this weekend.

Well, you only need 50 votes in the Senate and it just so happens the Democrats have that majority.

And yes, no budget passed by the Democrat controlled Senate in more than a 1000 days.

Will Harry Reid let the Obama's new budget come up for a vote? Not a chance. Why? Because the last joke of a budget got ZERO votes from the Democrats. Will Harry Reid let the House budget come up for a vote? Not a chance.

So the purposeful wrecking of our economy and country continues by the anti-America, anti-capitol Obama left... and his supporters.

1) Can you supply a quote for Obama saying he'd cut the BUDGET in half?

2) You DO need 60 votes. The GOP has demonstrated they will filibuster ANY bill they don't like. One of the problems is that they only have the THREATEN to filibuster - they don't actually have to DO it (ever since some Senate rules reforming that occurred, I believe, in the 1980s)

You can't filibuster a budget vote. But keep covering for the anointed one, I'm sure your grand kids will appreciate the debt heaped on them as he continues to spend us to bankruptcy and then lie about it.

From Feb, 2009

"Barack Obama pledged Monday to cut the nation's $1.3 trillion deficit in half by the end of his first term"

Obama pledges to cut nation's deficit in half - Feb. 23, 2009 (http://money.cnn.com/2009/02/23/news/economy/fiscal_summit/index.htm)

Now, DJPLONG...I am getting a bit tired of the same old rhetoric from this President blaming all the woes on the other party. They, the Republicans have their serious shortcomings and are not without blame but there are in excess of TWENTY FIVE bills in the Senate passed the House that resolve around jobs.

I dont blame Obama for all the woes of the world, but in that same speech where he promised to reduce the budget by one half...he said this.

"He identified exploding health-care costs as the chief culprit behind rising federal deficits during a bipartisan "fiscal responsibility summit" convened to discuss ways to restore fiscal stability without deepening the recession."

We all know what he has done about health care COSTS....NOTHING.

I said this in 2008 and I said..watch what he does, NOT what he says. I have seen no effort from the President in even talking about reducing the deficit.....he does not even try.

He appoints panels and commissiond and then ignores them. Sorry..this particular issue and the backroom, blacmail infested health care bill just infuriate me !

I saw a report on Fox on Sunday with Chris Wallace and he played a video of Obama pledging the budget to be cut by 50% by the end of his first term.

I will see if I can find a link. If he did say it then what do you say?

http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/fox-news-sunday/blog/2012/02/12/wh-chief-staff-defends-contraceptives-decision-talks-budget
This is the link to where Chris Wallace talked about it.

Well, I posted the video. I'm sure the libs will come back and say it was just a mistake. He must have been tired that day... or maybe the teleprompter was off. But in the end it doesn't matter to them. He IS the anointed one after all and they will cover for him and vote for him again despite the actual destruction to our country.

And... you DON'T need 60 votes. Or maybe you already know that anyway?

"Yet as the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities explains, a budget resolution "requires only a majority vote to pass, and its consideration is one of the few actions that cannot be filibustered in the Senate."

It took me like 10 seconds to find the video on youtube but the blind defenders of Obama won't even take the time. They'd rather just question and propagate false doubts.

Forget about the proposed budget specifics that mean nothing when no budget ever passes in over 3 years with the Democrat Senate majority.

Just the fact that no budget has been passed by them in more than a 1000 days is reason enough to vote them ALL out on their butts.

What OTHER enterprise or organization in this country is allowed to operate and spend trillions of dollars they don't even have, with no budget?????????????????

It's INSANITY.

It is amazing to me that most of the people in the country don't automatically, instinctively know this and believe this.
Until people wake up and start seeing the INSANITY, we are sunk.

51% of the people don't care as long as the checks keep coming in. That alone gives the current administration enough votes to stay in office as long as they want and remember each month that number goes up a little bit as more and more are placed on the government dole rolls.

But, there is always a "but," when the checks stop because the other 49% have stopped working and want their "dole" checks, then the fun will start. Hang on its coming down the pike faster then everyone realizes and when the poo-poo hits the rotary blades it ain't gonna be a fun time for all of us.

At my previous employer, I made and kept a 5 million dollar budget. Every January, we paid our accounting firm $4,000 to spend the week going over the books with a fine tooth comb for an annual audit. I had my feet held to the fire every single penny that were not mine to misuse!! Thus it ABSOLUTELY AMAZES me how ABSOLUTELY SLOPPY our government is run with MONEY THAT IS NOT THEIRS TO MISUSE!

dk: I'm willing to bet that the quote would have been proposing to cut the budget DEFICIT in half. That's still a tall order. But, in all seriousness, I would like to see if the quote said 'in his first year' or 'at the end of the first term'.

Katz, I'm with you there. You should see what I see here at the Air Force. It's depressing at times and VERY frustrating for our office.

Very inciteful comments. (See highlights above) Fair to assume you've read and analyzed the entire 256 pages before formulating your Opinions?

What's your point? The result of his budget is all over the news. Tell me, when will the Senate vote on it?

Last time not one democrat voted for it. This time they won't even bring it up again it's so bad.

Why no budget in over a 1000 days? His party does control the Senate and has the numbers to pass it.

Obama is poison for our country.

Obama will cut deficit in half FEB 2009 - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaQUU2ZL6D8&feature=player_embedded)Good video, DK.

But Obama didn't say he'd cut the budget in half by the end of his first term. In the video he said he'd cut the deficit in half...big difference.

To cut the budget in half would require the elimination of almost all the discretionary spending--about $2 trillion worth. That's basically what everything we know and call "government" costs. So to cut the budget in half would require massive cuts in both discretionary spending as well as the cost of entitlements, probably along the lines of a 25% cut in discretionary spending and as much as a 50% cut in Social Security and Medicare.

Shortly before the 2008 elections, the Congressional Budget Office estimated that the U.S. federal budget deficit for fiscal year 2007, which ended in October, was about $161 billion. The President's recent 2012 budget proposal, taken from the White House website, shows the projected deficit for 2012 to be $1.33 trillion. That's almost ten times more than the 2007 deficit. Forget about any cuts.

And by the way, the proposed budget does not include even 10 cents worth of cuts to entitlements.

If you think the riots in Greece right now are bad resulting from those lending to Greece demanding cuts in government spending, wait'll you see what happens in New York, Chicago and LA when the Chinese finally call a halt to writing us checks in exchange for our increasingly worthless bonds.

I see the libs went strangely silent on this subject. They moved to another thread defending the government food police confiscating turkey sandwiches from 4 year olds.

Btw, I meant deficit not budget.
