We are needing to furnish our new home and understand that Southern lifestyles and Showroom Direct are both owned by The Villages. If that is the case what is the difference between the two?

I would say that Southern Living tends to be a bit higher end in quality and price. That said, good deals can be found at both.

Southern Lifestyles is a more traditional style furniture while Showcase Direct tends to be more contemporary style. Plus Showcase Direct is much larger.

I tried both. Couldn't find anything I liked at SD, found everything I wanted at SL. Difference in quality and price.

I love almost everything at Southern Lifestyles. I was not as impressed with SD, but it does appear to be less expensive. However, I found that Southern Lifestyles was very reasonably priced.
Unless your a furniture snob, I would recommend Rooms to Go in Ocala or Leesburg. I think Southern Lifestyles is overated, too expensive and not all that great of quality or selection. DG

Great deals... always 25% off MSRP. They are having a sale on LazyBoy now. Just bought a push back recliner Retail $929 on sale $629. Not just floor samples. You can also order from thier catalogs too.

I've bought a couple of items from Whites. Beautiful coffee table on sale for 300.00. Prices are good and if you can catch a sale you will no doubt find a good buy...

Both. I found some things at SD and others at Southern Lifestyles. They both work together, so all your selections go into the computer and it's all on one bill. BTW, I thought I got some good deals in both places.

I used to work there- Southern Lifestyles sells higher end furniture but the store has gotten smaller as they have rented out space to other companies.
Showcase is is ashley and broyhill- more starting price.
I now work at blockers furniture in Ocala (25 miles) This store is larger t han both Village stores combined and we carry all price points and we gaurentee the lowest price. Please come up and see me for a great deal!

Also try Kents Furniture towards Ocala on the right. Saw some nice furniture there but a bit pricey. Try to get a sale.

Take the time to check out Kent Furniture in Belleview--Route 441 north a mile or so after the junction of 301 at 441. They have some lovely furniture at very competitive prices and free delivery. We bought a sofa, loveseat, dining table and chairs, and a daybed from them.

Thanks for correcting my location and spelling of the name. They do have some pretty stuff. We liked a furniture set there.
