Anyone enjoy the various courses offered via mail by the Teaching Company? The Lake County Library System has a few of these like one on the U.S. Civil War which is quite good. It is by one of the best university professors on this subject-- Dr. Gary W. Gallagher
American Civil War (http://www.thegreatcourses.com/tgc/courses/course_detail.aspx?cid=885)
I bought a few too on the history of Egypt; Shakespeare's Histories, Comedies, and Tragedies; and another one on the make-up of various books of the New Testament and their authenticity.
Hope that some interest in this can be sparked by TOTV in getting more of these products in the various Villages' area libraries.
I specifically liked the one on Mystics, Witchcraft and Heresies. The author, unfortunately does not spend much time on witchcraft though. Terror of History: Mystics, Heretics, and Witches in the Western Tradition (http://www.thegreatcourses.com/tgc/courses/course_detail.aspx?cid=893)
These are a little heavy going though but they do have very good instructors who can explain the subjects in fairly simple form.

The prices may look a bit steep but they have sales and if we can get more of these into the various Villages' area libraries more of us could enjoy them.
