Here is a movie that might be of interest and this Jewish holiday that the movie describes occurs in a few week's time.

The film is One Night with the King.

I enjoyed this movie even though the critics did not. It only gets 19% approval rating from the critics on Rotten Tomatoes but 80% from the Rotten Tomatoes' audience. One Night With the King - Rotten Tomatoes (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/one_night_with_the_king/)

It is about the history of the Purim in the Jewish faith which I knew very little about as I am not Jewish nor a regular Church goer. I only go to the Church on the Square once in a while. The story comes from the Old Testament's Book of Esther.

Anyone else seen this movie? The characters are a bit heavily drawn into good and evil caricatures and the king seems like a weakling, but I did like learning something about Jewish history.

Got the movie a couple of years ago from Netlix and it was good! I also participated last year in a Bible study on Esther which also was very good!
Getting involved as such brings the Bible alive as it isn't just stories!

No disrespect intended but, reading the thread title and knowing Tal loves movies, I thought it was about Elvis!

I had thought it would trigger that association too. I got this DVD from the Lady Lake PL last week and had picked it up thinking it was about Elvis.

Same here - no disrespect indeed. But, as they say there was only one King.
