I found it interesting that many of the top rated communities on that list have crime rates higher than the state average and some even higher than the national average. Thanks, but I'll take a lower crime rate than some of the other "benefits" of those towns. And none of those towns have the golf cart access to every necessity that TV does.

The report focused on cities vs. retirement communities/developments. Developments like The Villages, Sun City etc. were not included.

Correct. See slide 12 of 13, noting the Methodology that was used to come up with their final list. Follow the link noted there:
"Towns Rather Than Active Communities
Continuing with the procedural change we made last year to concentrate on towns/cities rather than active communities, the latter were excluded from the 2012 list. That being said, several active communities were popular enough to have made the list had we included them (The Villages would have been in the top 10, and Sun City would been somewhere in the 80′s. See our 2011 list of The 100 Most Popular Active Adult Communities for more)."

:coolsmiley: TV could almost be counted as a town at this point. It is the best of both worlds.

It must be a town because the commercial says "Florida's friendliest hometown". :spoken:

Don't let Gracie read that.
I just took our new neighbors out to dinner tonight. When they asked "Where are you guys moving?" And I said " The Villages" Their response was " Ohhh wow how cool for you, we wanna move there!"
That beats the other Gazillion people that told us we were nuts!
I'm good!
