Anyone know about orange trees? I'm looking for someone to give an estimate on pruning and caring for two orange trees in my yard. Thanks, Ray

All the citrus trees are native to Florida and will grow with no care other than fertilizing them twice a year, once early in the year and then in the fall. If you are going to prune citrus don't do it when they are in bud because you are going to interfere with this coming crop. Citrus are in bud right now so it is better to wait until after they have formed fruit and probably late in the year. The information in the website will give you exactly what you need to grow and care for citrus.

I think, MAYBE, the person is looking at a citrus tree that got hit by the frost?? I had nice orange tree with plenty of white buds on it about 2 weeks ago, UNTIL it got hit by that terrible frost (27 degrees) and just killed all the buds. I'm waiting for about 2 more weeks, before trimming all the brown. Probably will not get any fruit next fall. OH WELL!!!:cryin2::shrug::sad::undecided::cryin2:

I would suggest you leave your tree alone. It will drop the browned and frost bitten leaves on its own, and it will set more flower and fruit buds as the weather warms up. If you prune now it will interfere with its natural growth.
