The closest post office to where you'll be living in Sanibel would either be Fruitland Park which is on 466A or Wildwood which is on Shopping Center Drive, which is actually 301.

Hi Bill. I'm a little confused. I looked on the USPS website you attached and it gives the address of Walgreens, Walmart, Sweetbay and so on. Does that mean you can actually mail packages in these stores? I take it there must be maybe a counter at the Customer Service desk that accepts multiple packages? They can't be free standing Post Offices. Thanks for the clarification.

There is a post office van that comes to Sweetbay on Tuesday & Thursday from 9-4pm.

But the van at Sweetbay has limited services.
For Happinow, who I gather will be a resident of the Village of Sanibel, your closest bet is, indeed, going to be the USPS facility in Fruitland Park, just a couple/three miles east on CR-466-A.
There is a "UPS Store"-style facility in Colony Plaza, but it's not a Post Office in the sense that I think you meant!

That link shows "Post Offices and Approved Postal Providers" close to zip 32162. Thus you see all kinds of businesses that provide at least some level of post office services. Not knowing exactly what you're specifically wanting to do at the post office, I figured that list would give you the broadest view of various locations for you to pick and choose from.
If you want just full-blown Post Office locations, simply click that link, go to the Location Types box above the list and select "Post Offices" from the drop down list, make sure 32162 (or whatever zip suits you - or you can go with city and state) is in the box to the right of that, enter a search radius, then click 'Search'.
Hope that helps!
Bill :)

Thanks everyone. We need to be able to ship packages. My daughter lives in a different state and I often ship her packages from small to larger ones. And, I'm sure I'll need to ship packages back home too. Really just need somewhere we can ship packages.

Actually does anyone have a suggestion for a postal box? We will need one for several months. We will be living in Tamarind while waiting to get into our home in Fernandia.

From Tamarind Grove Wildwood Post Office on US 301 is probably the closest.

Lady Lake Main Post Office - behind Sam's Club. There is a road at the Southeast side of Sam's lot that you can take to get to the main post office.

Dear shcisamax, If I were you, I would check the Wildwood post office for a box. Drive time by car from Tamarind would be about 5 minutes at most. If Wildwood doesn't have any, then Fruitland Park is your next best bet. When we moved into The Villages, I rented a box in Lady Lake which unfortunately was 20 minutes away. I'm sure chuckinca is thinking you will be on the north end of The Villages not the south end. Wildwood is definitely the one you want.

Will usps pick up at a persons house in the villages if you purchase postage online and schedule a pickup. I do this here a lot and wondering if I'm going to have an issue. Central box locations are completely new to me. Also does fed ex / UPS deliver the the homes?
Thanks

The quickest mail out of TV area is to use the Oxford Post Office off Rt.301 two blocks north of Rt. 466 -- saves about 2 days on North bound mail !!!

Print your own shipping label either on PayPay or the USPS website. Take it to your local mail pick up location where they accept outgoing pkgs. You'll need to accurately weigh the pkg before you can but a shipping label.

Fruitland park is closest to both you and to Happinow. I mail things I sell on ebay and when I lived in Hadley I would just go straight east on 466A. The Fruitland park post office is on the left at the light..at intersection of 25A, before you get to 441/27. Not hard at all to get to, no turns, Happinow, it is right on 466A.
The postal service at Sweetbay does not give you a receipt with the origin or the time mailed.

We got a p.o. Box at Safe Ship in Colony Plaza. 4 months $45.00. Open seven days a week. They ship and accept packages for you. May not be the cheapest but from Duval/Charlotte it is the easiest access. Good luck.

Talk to your salesperson. They gave us access to our new address and use of our new box at the mail drop in Laurel Valley while our home was being built and we were renting. We drove over at least once a day anyway to watch progress on our new home and to pick up mail.

I went online to USPS and ordered a box. It will be in Wildwood which is the closest I believe. It costs $21 for three months and $6 for the key. The only caveat here is it is effective the day you order the box and doesn't have a "start" date so you can't really get it done ahead of time.

No..not exactly. We were given our new assigned post office slot in our own village while we were waiting for the house to be built. Our exact new address and our new assigned mail drop in our new village. This just began about four months ago. Ask your sales rep.

A slot is different than a box? We you able to get it once you signed off on the build or do you have to wait til they "break ground"? I will ask my realtor then.

As a renter, I have sent a few Fed Ex envelopes to landlords in TV, and all FedEx envelopes were delivered directly to the landlords' homes in TV.

If the box will fit in the lockers at the postal station, you will have a key left in your regular mail box. Use the key to open the large locker and get your package.
If the box will not fit in the locker, I have been told it will be delivered to your house by the postal contractor assigned to your mail station. Don't know if this is true as I haven't yet had something that large sent to me.

I second that. The post office on 301 is rarely crowded. The Fruitland Park one might be a little closer to Sanibel, but more traffic and less parking, although the line moves pretty fast.
