I will be renting a home in The Villages next year for a month and will not have access to the owner's mail box at the postal center. Other than the local Pack & Ship does The Villages offer any other alternatives for temporary mail forwarding?
Thanks

You can have your mail forwarded by the post office. It's easy to do online.

Just be prepared for slow service. We've been doing this for two years and forwarding really delays your mail.I run two weeks late on magazines and my comcast bill always states I owe two months even though I paid my monthly bill.By the time I get the forwarding, send to comcast, the next month's bill says I owe for two months.I know I should pay bills online to avoid this and I'm leaning that way.

I think TomH is looking for somewhere he can rent a PO Box or somewhere to temporarily direct his mail.

Why not try the Post Office in Lady Lake? Or ask them about General Delivery and have your mail temporary forwarded there.

Do you know anyone here in TV that could accept your mail while you are here?

There are various Post Offices nearby TV, not actually in TV, but pretty close by. The closest one would depend on where you will be renting. Go to https://poboxes.usps.com/poboxonline/search/landingPage.do and you will be able to find the closest one to your rental property. You can then make arrangements through your local post office for temporary forwarding.

The Post Office has a service called Priority Mail Forwarding, it works great and does not require that you change address. You can rent a box at Pack n ship and pick up your mail once a week, your home town PO will ship all your mail once a week via priority mail to whatever adress you give them. There is a fee for this service but for us it is well worth it

Priority mail is best way to go. If you have someone from home, picking up your mail, then have them stuff in "Priority Mail Envelope", all you can stuff for one price, and rent a box at Post Office or at "Pack and ship". If you have sent Fed Ex, or United Parcel, they have to deliver to house!! They have no access to mailboxes. (but costs more) Again, if you have friends you can have your mail mailed to, addressed c/o, then thats ok too.

BogeyBoy,
Yes, I do have friends in The Villages and that will probably be my option.
Thanks

The UPS Store on 441 in the Spanish Plaines shopping center (next to the Villages Hospital) offers short term mailbox rental services. They are not affiliated with Village Pack & Ship.
