My husband and I live in Livonia, Michigan, and visited The Villages in February
and loved it. We hope to go again next year for a longer visit. We like to play golf and I love to bowl. There are so many things to do - it really is like
Disneyland for adults.

Hello Michigan.
After college I lived in Livonia for 5 years and my wife in Northville. Moved from MI in 2004but still have our summer home in Harbor which we plan to have forever.
Going to the Design Center tomorrow for the next 6 days to pick stuff out and move to Fernandina around mid June.
It took us 1 visit and we weren't even looking to move from Orlando.
TV is an amazing place.

Ah yes. I remember it well. I thought you were a troll, asking if there was anything to do here...
Sorry Keith, and a sincere welcome!

Another Michigan resident falls in love with TV. We own a home in St. James
and we'll be making the permanent move to TV after the short sale on our Michigan house. Yep, heart surgery, heart attack, two stints, and unemployment will change your life.....hopefully for the better. The banks
get in trouble and we bail them out. The homeowner gets in trouble and the
banks have a never ending list of additional charges. Somewhere in this mess
there's "Fair Play", but we haven't gotten to it yet. A nap in the lanai would
be nice.

My husband and I just left TV last Saturday - are now back at our place in Ypsilanti, MI. A warm 45 today - Missing our new home (in the Village of Bonita) and all the wonderful friends we made this winter. Might just have to make a summer visit - Call it my Villages 'fix' :gc:

We were Michiganders for 37 years living in Westland, Canton, and finally Hamburg Township (Pinckney area) the last 23 years.
We were snowbirds here from 05-09 then moved here full time later in 09. We haven't regretted our decision to leave Michigan and have never looked back.
This Monday we're returning to Michigan for a 2 week stay. My husband has a trade fair to attend the first week. The second week, our daughter and son in law are taking a vacation to Cabo, Mexico and we get to watch our 6 and 8 year old grandsons while they are away. Should be interesting!

Haven't slept a full night for the past week as my wife and I are about to open the next chapter in our lives. We close on our new home in the village of Collier on Oct 17th two days after we close on the sale of our home on lake Huron in Tawas City, Michigan on Oct 15th. Both of us were born in Michigan so the move is bitter sweet. Having to say so long to life time friends is difficult although there are plans to come back for visits periodically for holidays and special occasions. I'm confident however we are making the right decision to make our new life in the Villages a happy one. In about ten days we should be there unloading boxes at our new home on Evans Prairie Trail and shopping for a golf cart. I am sooooooo geeked!
Another Michigander on the road to be a Michigoner although we do plan to summer up here at the "camp".
We try to get to TV about once a month and are looking forward to being in TV for 7-9 months at a time.

two more Michiganders coming down soon. Currently live near Owosso, and will keep it for summers for a few years. Have parents living next door that we like to look in on each morning. Sheila and I came over to the Villages for lunch one day while visiting her parents near Eustis. Just an innocent lunch at this place I had heard of, called The Villages. That led to a 3 day visit, which resulted in a new home in Charlotte. Looking forward to years and years of retirement in our new home. Retired from the Air Force 22 years ago, now plan to do this retirement thing right!!!

I was raised in Michigan, Birmingham / Bloomfield Hills area, went to Northern Michigan in the UP. I'll retire on 11/1 and currently in downsizing mode, trashing and giving away all the stuff we don't want to bring. Will be FT frogs in January in the Village of Woodbury!

A sincere welcome to all folks from Michigan. Nothing will replace the beauty that is pure Michigan in your hearts, but soon the lack of snow will grow on you.
For those leaving all familiar, take it slow and easy and know it is HARD to uproot from friends and family sometimes. We are waiting on this end to welcome you to this beautiful place and hope it will soon feel like "home" in your hearts and that some of us will be loved new friends.
BUT...I just kinda have to say this, since I am from Central Ohio.
Go Bucks.

We spent our whole lives in Michigan and moved down here this year. You are going to love it! I have to admit, I do get a 'little' nostalgic when thinking about fall and cider mills but I always compared fall in Michigan to a prisoners last meal....sure, the food is great but guess what follows! Welcome to TV, it really is all that it promises to be.
Oh, Gracie, you do know what Ohio represents to Michiganders, right? It is the one state that we travel through on our journey to Florida that requires us to actually watch our speed limits. Your state police hate Michiganders! If it weren't for that, I could actually forgive you for the whole Ohio State/Michigan thing. I never will, however, understand Skyline Chili!
