Hi one of my pet peeves while here playing golf in the villages is the lack of signs showing where the courses are.I had a map and figured it out after getting lost mutiple times that most executive courses are near rec centres.Even when you get to the rec centre still no signs telling where the course is.

It easy to check a Villages map to find the courses, and the newest map has the starter shacks located with a "green square". Until you learns The Villages, it's good to check a map.

Golf The Villages (http://www.golfthevillages.com) has driving instructions to all the executive courses.

We don't need more signs to clutter the scenery. Take it upon yourself to read a map.

I don`t think one sign on the road would hurt the scenery,

I do.
After you are here awhile, you won't need any signs.

All three of you! Play nice in the sandbox!

Where are your manners? Clearly this is a newbie who needs a little help!

Now... here's YOUR SIGN!

Since most men don't ask directions.... I'm thinking signs might be good!

I am a newbie too--moved here permanently in Nov 2011---- I have been using the maps to learn my way around. I agree that we don't need signs taking away from the beauty of The Villages-----if you need directions hold your map outside of your cart or car and somebody will stop to help you. Good luck learning your way around-- it gets easier!

Signs in general are lacking in TV. I remember the first time I tried to find my way along the Buena Vista cart trail through Laurel Manor and up past Saddlebrook. Grrrr! They are pretty good up by Lopez though.

Learning your way around TV with a map is a rite of passage around here and a fun one at that! As becky said, if you're lost, just stop your vehicle, open your map and before you know it, someone will be there to offer directions or lead you to your destination. Finding the golf courses gets easier, but again, there are directions online.

Blosiy is here for two weeks. By the time he learns his way around he'll be heading back to Canada. A few signs would make life easier for newbies and short timers.

Bill. You and Brillo standing there with your sweet faces and your popcorn bags...would cause ANYONE to want to help you. BUT you would find a way to figure it out for yourself ahead of time and to get where you're goin' on time. It is an Ohio thing. Plan ahead.

But...for any of you new people, I have this to say: It isn't easy finding all of the places to go and making a "map in your head" of this place. We have 32 executive golf courses and ten championship courses and they are all in a very large place. Even with studying maps, it took me a year to really say I knew the area. This is NOT small, that is the biggest surprise for anyone coming here, just how big this place is.

And Pooh is right. Take your time and if you make a wrong turn, you will find out where a new place is.
