I have seen some slams on the Vice President of the US of late on TOTV. Not sure what this is about.

Could someone elaborate on comparing him with Sarah Palin.

GEEZ....NOBODY compared him with anyone. Some are, as usual on here berating Palin for dumb things she said...point was made about Biden that his gaffes are far above what Palin has done.

Who compared them except for that fact ?

Which gaffes? I do not see any comparison between the two. Joe Biden has also been in the public spotlight for a very long time.

Ttarzac:725: Wikipedia is accurate on the personal life of Joe Biden. As a child my wfe was a casual acquaintance of Biden's first wife (not really close friends but they knew each other) . Biden spoken at my college commencement.

Your reference of Biden to Palin by some had to do with the comparison of who had more gaffes.

I abhor personal attacks believing they are uncivilized, rude, mean and counter-productive. But based on my observations on other threads apparently we have some posters who thrive on the use of adjective, adverbs and verbs when characterizing some people, especially politicians.

"You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.... I'm not joking." --Joe Biden, in a private remark to an Indian-American man caught on C-SPAN, June, 200

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man." –Joe Biden, referring to Barack Obama at the beginning of the 2008 Democratic primary campaign, Jan. 31, 2007

"Stand up, Chuck, let 'em see ya." –-Joe Biden, to Missouri state Sen. Chuck Graham, who is in a wheelchair, Columbia, Missouri, Sept. 12, 2008

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened." –Joe Biden, apparently unaware that FDR wasn't president when the stock market crashed in 1929 and that only experimental TV sets were in use at that time, interview with Katie Couric, Sept. 22, 200

There are many more and remember when he referred to the Tea Party as terrorists ??

PS...And as someone who was active in politics in PA when he was beginning in Del...I assure you, many cannot be repeated and there are MORE

If you include me in your comments, I will apologize. I DID in fact get carried away because of the nasty crap on some other threads. I still do not see the reason for this thread if you read what was going on.

Again, if you include me...I apologize...I Abhor the hate talk on any candidate

I got more:

Here's a good story of Biden's lack of understanding on China's "one child" policy:
Biden's Moral Obtuseness - Mona Charen - Townhall Conservative Columnists - Page 1 (http://townhall.com/columnists/monacharen/2011/08/26/bidens_moral_obtuseness)

Then there's just the stupid stuff that falls out of his mouth;

"A man I'm proud to call my friend. A man who will be the next President of the United States -- Barack America!" --Joe Biden, at his first campaign rally with Barack Obama

"Look, John's last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number-one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S, jobs."

"Jill and I had the great honor of standing on that stage, looking across at one of the great justices, Justice Stewart." –Joe Biden, mistakenly referring to Justice John Paul Stevens, who swore him in as vice president, Washington, D.C., Jan. 20, 2009

Biden gave a summation of the administration's approach to stimulus spending:

"People, when I say that, look at me and say, 'What are you talking about, Joe? You're telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?" he said at a stop in Virginia. "The answer is yes."

During a Feb. 25, 2009, interview on CBS' "Early Show," Biden encouraged viewers to visit a government-run Web site that tracks stimulus spending. When asked for the site's web address, Biden could not remember the site's "number."
"You know, I'm embarrassed. Do you know the Web site number?" he asked an aide standing out of view. "I should have it in front of me and I don't. I'm actually embarrassed."

"Today is the moment for me as a United States senator running for president to put aside the national politics and focus on what's happening down there,"

Bucco, no, no, no....my reference were in "the general sense" with the exception of public figures such as Limbaugh or Maher and then its not personal its about their counter-productive dialogue

Biden is something of a gaffe machine, but in fairness has relatively few for someone who has been "on the record" in politics for forty years. His accomplishments would seem to override a few "foot in the mouth" moments, and most everyone, including republicans, agree that he is an expert in foreign relations. Palin, had a relatively brief period in the national spotlight, and her "gaffes" were a little more troubling, as they reflected a lack of fundamental understanding of issues vital to the national interest. I think the comparison of the two falls woefully flat.

If VP Joe Biden is such a cad and Gov Sarah Palin is so perfect, how come Joe is the one living in the Naval Observatory and Sarah is using facebook and twitter to govern from Alaska? Could it have something to do with her 59% disapproval rating?

Not sure what you mean....would you please EXPLAIN yourself ???

Thank you.

I ask because I saw NOBODY even infer that Biden was a "cad" nor even infer that Palin was "perfect". Fact is, and I know that facts mean NOTHING to you, but the fact is that the Biden comments were only a result of the vicious, acid tongue remarks on Palin and were offered to show the hypocrisy of those who oppose her on misquotes.

HOWEVER, having said that, you and your party (which is your total life) have always done that...attack PERSONALLY and if anyone responds in kind, ask them how dare they do that.

You didn't answer the question. Why is Joe Biden the VP and Sarah Palin a Fox analyst?

If you need the answer to that question about Biden being on the ticket elected, then you are in worse shape than I thought...nah, cant be any worse.

By the way, it is really convenient how you mix and match quotes etc...very typical of your ilk....the original question had a preface to it which you ignore now since the preface that you used was non factual. WOW....you keep going lower and lower into the depths.

to compare Biden to Palin on any level is foolish. Biden even if he says 1000 stupid things is a far more experienced, intelligent, and trust worthy than Palin. She couldn't even stand the heat in Alaska and bailed out after 2 short years trying to govern a couple hundred thousand people. She QUIT!!!

OK...have you read this thread ? I do not consider myself to be foolish as you suggest, and nobody EVER AT ANY TIME made the comparison that you allude to.

I am sure you have the superior qualities to be able to call her what you call her, but please be sure you read what is posted here before making charges.

This thread was begun to simply show that Palin is not the only American politician to make gaffes when speaking.....but you folks have go to hit her at each and every opportunity. This from someone who does not support her for any public office at all but is just plain sick and tired of the gossipy folks simply taking her down at every opportunity. It would serve you small minded folks to come on here and post about issues and not people.

I even apologized for posting on this thread, BUT AT LEAST I knew why it was here and to my knowledge there is no post on here execpt when meant to contradict directly posts about Palin.

Very typical of the unenlightened conservatives to try and change the subject when they are on the losing end of an arguement. They do not want to hear about Sarah Palin so they refuse to hear anymore of it. It was very typical of Sarah that she would act the very same way as shown in the HBO movie, Game Change.

Well, Caribou Barbie aka The Quitta from Wasilla, is still a danger to America. It is possible she may try to hijack the presidential candidacy at the Tampa convention for the Elephants. Obama could easily beat her but Palin would be an ugly stain on America that the rest of the world would see.

I really do like you Buggy, and this difference of opinion won't change our friendship any (for me), but this post of yours is fraught with unbalanced ignorance of the person and the subject, and I can debate differences of opinion but I can't debate outright nonsense.

I know you think on this subject i'm a bit crazy, but that's your problem, in my mind, because of your unquenchable Palin bias.

Just keep repeating to yourselves, uber-conservatives, President Obama will be re-elected in 2012. When you come to that realization, the happier you will be. It is my viewpoint that the uber-conservatives on this forum are a very unhappy group of people. The Villages is a wonderful place to live. Be happy.

in the event you do happen to be disappointed and Obama is not re-elected, we will look forward to your conclusions on the results.

and I am sure the uber-conservatives will be railing on how the liberal media (everyone except Fox Noise) defused their candidate and that is why we have President Obama to draw our country into the depths of communism with the help from PRAVDA and Josef Stalin's ghost.

Remember when we were kids and we boys kicked rocks around and claiming how we hated dumb girls.....Well that's Buggyone. All this smoke and mirrors about Sarah Palin/aka Caribou Babe really means Buggyone is sweet on her. Keep in mind he was the one who first start calling her "Caribou Babe"

Its OK buggyone your secret is safe withrichie and me:1rotfl:

Yes, I fondly remember the blonde who displayed that tantalizing shoulder. OK, I guess you have your priorities in order.
