I know I will get beat up on this but how about the Dream of a Village Residents Car Care Center. Like the Village Wood Shop.

My vision is a multible bay complex for recreation education and general service.

Lubrication Service
Brake Inspections and Maintenance
Tire Rotation Service and Road Force Balancing
Alignment Checks
Scan tool Availability
Vehicle Safety inspections
Vehicle DataBases informational systems available for specifications Technical Service Bulletins and research.

Just being able to diagnosis a problem and then have the knowledge to get it repaired.

A classroom where meetings can be held and Automotive Vocational Instruction from entry to advanced.

Service and diagnosis only no major repairs

Could be sponsored by a membership fee. AAA and local State associations.

Equipment could be leased from manufactures who also use the facility for local technician training.

There I just woke up from my dream! And yes I would help run it teach there and make it work!

I still do most of my own work in my "tiny" garage. I will not be rebuilding motors anymore but still chnage oil , replace brakes, rotate tires, wash and wax my own vehicle. Next step is to learn more about gas golf carts.

A fine idea. My first thought it is too large an undertaking for one person to get off the ground. Second thought is to go to the village car clubs for help.
