This is an actual letter to the editor! I think we have found the mother of the woman trying to solve the math problem in a previous post!
"Daylight exacerbates warming
You may have noticed that March of this year was particularly hot. As a matter of fact, I understand that it was the hottest March since the beginning of the last century....
This should come as no surprise to any reasonable person. As you know, Daylight Saving time started almost a month early this year. You would think that members of Congress would ave considered the warming effect that an extra hour of daylight would have on our climate. Or did they?
Perhaps this is another plot by a liberal Congress to make us believe that global warming is a real threat. Perhaps the next time there should be serious tudies before Congress passes laws with such far-reaching effects.

I think those two ladies should get together. Between them they could solve all the world's problems.

It looks like she believes Congress has power to control the amount of heat the sun projects onto the planet, regardless of the time shown by our clocks.
I hope this single individual's thinking is not used here to characterize all who disagree with the "other side of the aisle" on matters like this.

That is almost as good as the person in San Fran who wants us to buy all our meat in the grocery store in packages where no animals are hurt instead of hunting where animals are hurt. Yes they vote, but the really scarey thing is, 'THEY BREED."

C'mon now, you made that up just to get us going didn't you? Her reasoning makes about as much sense as some other arguments I've heard for warming.......My personal prediction is that it's going to be hotter this summer than it has been all year long!

CONNIE M. MESKIMEN Like the rest of you, I am also laughing at this Connie's thinking. Does it really take a Rhodes Scholar to realize that an extra hour of sunlight in the evening is offset by an extra hour of darkness in the morning? IMO, she is either a ditz or she's a deciving pretender who knows exactly what she's doing! :ohdear:

I'm confused- is Connie Meskimen a male or female? The beginning of the "Snopes" article keeps saying "she", but the last paragraph makes me think she's a he! I Wikipediaed (sic) and Googled to no avail.
