All you golf cart owners I need your suggestions.
I have decided on the 2012.5 Yamaha EFI.
Opinions/ Experiences please on where to purchase.
Each co. offers something a little different ie more sound deadening, LED turn signal indicators on the window frame, hi perf. gears...
Both offer 10" rims but what about 12" rims?
Is 12" acceptable on the golf course?

I have been very happy with Villages Golf Cars. Their customer service pre and post sales has been excellent. They have gone above and beyond helping me put on decals and with loaner carts. I don't believe anyone around here would sell you a cart that was not acceptable for golf course use.

Here's a link to Golf The Villages (http://www.golfthevillages.com) which talks about their tire policy and who to call if you have any questions.

Golf The Villages (http://www.golfthevillages.com/golf-in-the-villages/tirepolicy.asp)

Sorry this does not work. You will have to go to www.golfthevillagesdotcom then click on golfing in the villages then click on tire policy on right hand side.

I own carts from both. Service is excellent from both. I like the Carts and Clubs enclosure a lot better. Better snaps, tighter seals, better fit, almost everything about the enclosure is better. Also a couple better options. However if buying today I would check both and buy where I got the best price. If they were real close I would buy from Carts and Clubs because of the superior enclosure.

I purchased my 2011 Yamaha gas cart at Villages of LSL last July. Last week I bought a second sand bottle, it's nice to have one on each side, and a club/ball washer and they installed both for free. It was handy having the ability to drive there in my cart to have the work done.

While I was there talking to the tech, he mentioned they have the LED turn signal indicators on the posts, which is nice because the left indicator is sometimes easy to forget it's on because on the console it's right below the steering wheel. So I took my cart in for that yesterday, I also mentioned the big outside rearview mirrors can create a blind spot when making a turn, so he lowered them about 6". He charged just $56 for the lights and all the labor.

I've ridden a couple of times in Par Car carts with the big wheels, and I find it's gets to be a pain on the golf course when you have to keep stepping up and down to get in and out. What I have are the 10" tires with the SS wheels, they only cost $130 and look real nice. I also had my roof painted black, costs $300. Got the LED turn signal lights in the back, and lights on the side, and the Ultimate Seats and a gas gauge. I got just about everything except a radio or fan. Cost about $10,300 when I was done. It's a black cart with "Ravens" on the front tag and hood.

I agree the better enclosures are a big plus. We purchased a used Yamaha gas from Carts and Clubs and are very happy with their service.

Keith, talk with people from either dealership and I believe they'll tell you that the 12" wheels, even with low profile tires, won't work on the Yamaha. I believe it has to do with the tires scrubbing in the wheel openings. But check with them for their expertise.

I'm with l2ridehd - I like the way C&C does their enclosure. In addition to the items he mentioned, I believe you'll find any gaps around the windshield base (where it meets the cart body) are truly minute. Helps keep any rain water leakage to a bare minimum. Also, C&C creates their own wiring harness(es) for much of the cart. Heavier gauge wiring for the headlights, a true automotive-style fuse block rather than tapped-in add-on wiring with inline fuses for things, etc. We like the speedo gizmo (speedo, clock, air temp, timers, odometers, and so on) they installed for us as well - I don't know what the TV dealer offers if you want something like this.

The price differential between the dealerships isn't what it used to be a couple of years back - the TV store prices have become much more competitive.

Shop them both - ask questions - then go with what you like!

Their enclosure system is a thing of beauty! Nice craftmanship. I agree with you.

Bill - They get " The CarGuys " approval for all you mentioned except I wish they had taken over the Tomberlin Sales and Service! I'm still going electric!

I bought my most recent cart at Carts and Clubs. They service at your house which to me is a big plus. Also the Village Carts does not sell the MEEI cab enclosure which I purchased and am very happy with it. I have had the cart for 3 months and have had minor service issues which were resolved without any problems. I would vote for C and C if given my druthers.

When I purchased my Yamaha gas cart I purchased from The Villages golf cart store. They were a little more than Ocala but Ocala offered the standard Yamaha factory warranty of 4 years. The Villages offered the Yamaha 4 year factory warranty plus The Villages adds one more year warranty for a total of 5 years. I don't know what Ocala is doing warranty wise today. I was at The Villages Golf Cart Store a couple of days ago and on new carts it is still a total of 5 years. The Villages extra year of warranty covers the same items as the Yamaha warranty.

To me the 5 year warranty would be important. Again the 5 year warranty is on new carts at The Villages Golf Cart Store. I don't know what they do on reconditioned carts but do know it is not 5 years.

I just bought the 2012 1/2 EFI from LSL Villages Golf Carts. Joel was my salesperson. Patience of a saint. Spent four hours with me and then I came back and changed everything. Lent me one of his personal golf carts for my time here. I love being able to get there in four minutes from our house. Convenience is valuable to me. Joel is fabulous. He makes the shopping experience fun and he is so helpful and full of ideas I like shopping locally. And heck, coming from Seattle, if I get some rain through the enclosure, well I will feel nostalgic!

Another fan of Carts and Club. We looked at both the Villages Golf Cart and C & C and found the prices very similar, but the enclosure at C & C was far superior to the Villages. One bit of advice...make sure you get a speedometer. Its much cheaper than the cost of a ticket.

Could anyone comment on the new 2012 EFI carts. Are they quit?, Gas millage? and any problems? They have been on the road now for a few months.

It's 3 years on a reconditioned cart.

Great info especially re the enclosures being so nice.
Definately getting the speedo.
C&C said their tailpipe is all steel rather than rubber and a pipe at TV Cars.
If they don't have the signal indicators on the posts then I would add later.
I'll have to go see them before I get one.

Another vote for Cart and Clubs Our renters arrived and the cart would not stary. Called them at noon and they were there by 2pm and had it running by 2:20. That's service

From reading this it seems the Ocala dealer has a nicer aftermarket enclosure. One thing to consider is how much do you really use them. I know I see some carts that have them down or sections down all the time. I got my Yamaha last July and it wasn't until last Thursday when I got caught in the rain at Cane Garden was the first time I even undid the enclosure, 8 months before I used it. After it dried that night in the garage I rolled it back up. To me it's not a deal breaker to not buy from Villages Golf Carts because their enclosure is not as nice. Plus the enclosure I do have from Villages Golf Carts, after finally using it I realized it was pretty nice.

Here's my cart. This is before I had the sideview mirrors lowered. The sunshade is black with gold stripes and the ultimate seats are black with gold inserts. Also you can see the SS wheels and the black roof. A few of the extras I added.

Thats pretty much what I will be getting.
Onyx with Ultimate sport seats with taupe rough grain in the center and black elsewhere with the carbon fiber dash kit.
Side marker lights, mirrors like yours.
We picked out a black and beige tweed cover.
Have to check into the black roof though.
Where did you get yours?

Villages Golf Cars said they don't make a black roof, but the dealer takes it off and does a really good paint job for $300. Make sure those large side mirrors top edge are in line with the middle bar on the windshield, that way you have a clear view when making turns. Otherwise it creates a blindspot that can cause a head-on collision. The LED lights on the posts are inside the cab so you'll know your turn signals are on. Since Yamaha doesn't have an audible sound it's easy to forget they are on, especially the left one because the indicator light is below the steering wheel in your line-of-sight.

If you're a golfer, you'll find it's handy to have a sand bottle on each side so when you pull up to the passenger's golf ball, he can get to the sand without walking around the cart. It's good to save time on the course.

On the Ultimate Seats make sure you get the version with the center arm-rest. I find that it makes driving the cart so much easier since there are no doors like on a car and it's the only place to rest an arm while driving.

Great info on the mirrors; I would never have thought of it.
I will be getting the LED turn signals on the posts for that very reason and the side marker lights.
We sat in the Sport bucket seats with 3 armerests and they were amazing.
Thanks.
