If you recall after 9/11 there were a number of programs that were set up by the government that outraged many of the citizens of this country. There was actual rage and outcry at the time.

How does everyone feel about this...

"The U.S. intelligence community will now be able to store information about Americans with no ties to terrorism for up to five years under new Obama administration guidelines."

No controversy from me but I am guessing, perhaps wrongly, that some of our posters were blasting the last administration for less !

Honest answer....I do not and did not right after 9/11. Perhaps a sign of my age...don't know...I honestly do not worry about it, and if you read the link there is sort of a good reason for it...

On a political note what bothers me is the hypocrisy......this kind of thing was held up by the President during the campaign and used to ridicule the previous administration and not only continues what he condemned he is enhancing it.

I have absolutely no problem with it - but, what the heck did the last administration do? The Patriot Act? That's it?

Wasn't there a 9/11 Commission that made many, many recommendations to the administration - and the administration ignored every single one of them?

I have huge problems with the Patriot Act also!!! It is pure BS!!! I voted for Bush, but this was a significant disappointment for me. Bush was too much of a progressive for my taste, but much better than the alternative. I hope we don't end up with Romney and RomneyCare just because he might be a shade better choice than Mr. Obama and his ObamaCare. Crap is crap is still crap.
