Have you noticed that the volume of posting on this Forum has greatly diminished recently?

Kind of reminds me of an old proverb: "What a fool can spoil, ten wise men cannot repair".

For what it is worth, my opinion......those who want to discuss issues which I suppose is the main reason for this forum just, as I have twice, get sick of the one line posters who practice the politics of ridicule.

If you run through any of the posts, you will find that a serious thread is ignored, but start one to ridicule someone in public life and it comes to life.

Used to be fun to visit here, exchange thoughts....not always friendly, but not in a ridiculing manner, and certainly not the drive by kind of posts. Used to be able to read what other folks are reading and thinking and learn something. Now all you can learn is how to snipe at a poster or a politician.

Must be exciting to call names and ridicule because that is what the forum has become.

I get caught up in that at times and have left here because I was not only disgusted with what was being posted but with myself but I never practice it to such a degree as some do. They come here and LOOK...actively search for a place to insert ridicule or a one liner where they feel so proud, much like an elementary school student.

That is my opinion anyway

I've noticed no decline in postings. Still lots of lively debate. A number of the one line ridicule posters have amped down the personal comments, but that's certainly not a bad thing.

Political Talk has never been the most visited section on this forum, but closer to election time it'll amp up as always.
