BEWARE OF DOING BUSINESS WITH LEE COBB - L C Landscaping
He's untrustworthy, unreliable and a liar! My husband purchased a palm tree from him that subsequently died. We have contacted him numerous times, but he has yet to replace the palm. His black truck doesn't have markings but his Florids license plate number is J91 GWG. He preys on the newer villages.

I have heard numerous residents who have had problems with this gentlemans palms. One of our home watch customers had him install a palm and we watered it daily for them. It did survive and looks fairly good although it was not planted straight. I have seen others this gentleman has planted also looking like the photo you posted. Our clients also have tried calling him immediately after he planted theirs to come our and straighten it and he also never returned their call.
It's nice of you to post to inform others so they wont be disappointed as well.

It's on my agenda to contact the BBB, plus I plan to file a small claims action. I know I won't get the money back, but at least it will be on record. Most people don't bother & these kinds of actions go on without consequences.

Call the BBB and file a complant with them.
You can post a BBB complaint with them but, to get it erased from their files, all the person being complained about has to do is contact them and, no matter what he says, they consider the complaint non-existant.
The BBB has a VERY limited value.

Its the same old consumer story buyer beware &
You get what you pay for .
We weren't in our home 1 day and saw this guy driving around going home to home with his broken down tuck flag #1
and a trailer in no better shape flag # 2.
Searching for unsuspecting buyers offing discount palms flag #3
He approached us with his story of quality discount palms.
We politely turned him down few hours later his was driving by with an empty trailer
If you fish long enough you'll get a bite
I would suspect he has caught his share of fish.
It's a shame that just anyone with a truck and few tools can pass them self off as a contractor and get in the gate .
You would think In the Villages all trade persons and contractors would have to meet a performance standard
Just my opinion

Exactly. Anything to keep the business subscribing to be listed. Seniors vs Crime is 1000x more effective. BBB ratings are meaningless.

I was under the impression that if a claim was filed, the bbb would check it out..Where I live in NY thats what they do..they try to resolve the problem. If the problem is not taken care of, its listed on their web page and others who are looking for a reliable person will see the complant filed against the person who did the work. I think its worth a try anyway. But who knows in fla how they handle things.

Is that a Sylvester Palm in your picture? They are usually quite pricey to purchase. Sorry for your unfortunate experience.

I have a biz in NY, each of the BBB are franchised money machine that shake down biz to join, it is not a non profit deal.
A scam as to what they can do.
