Whose menu, what menu and where?

Throughout The Villages, there are MANY, many restaurants and I am sure you can find items that are vegetarian or vegan in most of them.

Go to the Gourmet Club's website, Page 1 (http://thevillagesgourmetclub.com/page1.html).
In the Page Search Box (lower right) enter "vegetarian" or "vegan", then hit "Find All", then "Show Next" buttons. It'll search for those words on that page like a charm. Try it on Page 2 and Page 3 also.

I believe that there is a vegan club as well as a raw food club.

I'm a vegan and I can tell you that vegetarian or vegan items are not always healthy. Take restaurant soup for example: It's usually very high in sodium. That's not healthy. The same is true for a soy-burger served on a white bun. It's high in sodium too and processed.

Your best bet would be to go to some place like the Golden Corral. Then you can pick and choose natural whole foods.

Better yet, eat at home. I didn't have any book to go by when I got started. I just made it up as I went along. I went to the store and bought lots of fresh non-starchy vegetables, fruit, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds, and olive oil for dressing. Then you make soups and salads by being creative and making it up as you go along. Anyone can do it.

tks, it's actually a bit tougher for us we don't use any oil or dairy.

We find that most Thai restaurants can do what we want, also some Japanese.

Sweet tomato is good except their soup has oil.

99% of the time we find what we like or the chef out of curiosity will make it for us.

What's in the area Thai food wise?

So true Villages Pl, most of food in restaurants is not healthy... they buy veggies that have been heavily sprayed with pesticides (it's cheaper), and as you probably know, corn & soy products, including oil, high fructose sweeteners, etc., are genetically modified (GMO) and may be causing many of the diseases afflicting many people. Thanks for speaking out, VP, this is an important issue.
