View Full Version : Driveway Painter Complaint

In the Fall of 2010, I passed a driveway being painted. I was impressed with the job and asked the painter for his business card. Within a couple weeks I was proud of my newly painted driveway with its big custom painted lighthouse right in the middle. However, I remember seeing, and questioning the painter, that the clear protective topcoat was being too thinly applied, with spots being missed. Only one gallon was used to cover not just the driveway, but the walk and front patio. At the time I was assured that the coverage was complete and sufficient.

In the Fall of 2011, when I returned for the winter, I discovered that the dark blue paint of the stripes on the lighthouse were faded. I immediately called the painter and left a message. Within a few days he stopped by to look at the problem. Then he assured me that the painted lighthouse would be repaired to my satisfaction, at no charge.

After some time, with still no correction of the defective paint job and no communication, I left another message for the painter. Then, still with no communication and the paint job now peeling (see photo below), on March 28th I called again and left a message to call me within the week or I would have to file a complaint and post about his shoddy workmanship here on TOTV.

Having not heard from the contractor since, I am warning all Villagers;
Do not use this contractor. He does not do good work and does not stand by his product.

The company name is; Professional Services Plus LLC
The contractor's name is; Roger
Checks, at the time he painted my driveway, were made out to; Patti Enfinger.

At the time the business was not incorporated. It was just Roger and Patti Enfinger. The choice was either to make the check out to Roger or to Patti.

I guess my BIG mistake was being a good guy and trying to give some business to folks just getting a business started in tough times.

The overall driveway, walkway and patio paint job is first rate and I'm very happy with it. It's just the hand painted lighthouse that's gone bad. If they were to make good on it, as promised, I'd have no hesitation in recommending them.
