There have been hundreds of articles similar to this one printed since the incident.
Some guy venting, is all.

I read through this Op piece. The man must not have visited the Villages in his meanderings across the US to various "gated communities".
That piece did seem a little racist to me.

Reminds me of this story I read in the about a man pressured by his community's leaders to take down the metal gates and the bulletproof glass in his Harlem NY based liquor store because it made them feel too restricted and hurt their feelings by looking so "ghetto".
Well this store owner was immediately burglarized twice in short order, losing thousands of dollars in cash and merchandise.
You can't make this stuff up.

It reminds me of the Leisureville mentality. I was so angry when I posted it, I couldn't even think of any comment that was printable.

Don't let it make you angry, islandgal. Rich Benjamin is part of the media who has convicted George Zimmerman without any evidence. His type of journalism is dangerous and hateful.

This is so typical of the NY Times and the misguided mainstream media. Among other things it appears they do not want to allow potential victims to appropriately protect themselves from crimes against their person and their property.

The author, Benjamin, is a far left winger, but he was on Bill Reilly's show earlier this week and actually did a reasonable good job of defending himself. I wholly disagree with his ideology and his writings, but I have to give him credit. He didn't let old Bill run him into the ground, and Bill even thanked him for being a stand up guy. Unfortunately there are millions of people out there that buy his (c)rap, and that's unfortunate for all of us.

It's just more bigotry from those who claim to be so "tolerant" of others.....
you know....
...bigotry against people who exercise their Choice.....of where to live, and in what kind of housing.....that is their private property, and not government owned.

I purposely didn't read the article. I'm trying to be very careful about what I take in and the media is so negative these days so I'll pass on
the NY Times article.
TWO WOLVES
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.
"One is Evil - It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
"The other is Good - It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Do you feel this tremendously warm squeezy type hug, Duffy's mom? You have such a kind heart. I try not to feed my evil one either.
The more you watch news on Television, the more you feel angry, sad, worried, and don't sleep. You forget to enjoy the good. The folks on TV are paid to get your attention and hold your attention and get you all riled up. It doesn't help ANYTHING. I read some news. If I feel my blood pressure rising, I lay the paper down. Getting all upset doesn't help anything.
And I try to impact the area of the world I live in as well as I can. And I hope and pray and wish for the best in people who have influence.
