Hi All,
We are coming from CA on 4/25 for our first visit, but unfortunately all the Life Styles visits were overbooked. We're not really sure what this will mean for us.
We are staying at a hotel there in the Villages. Will we still be able to see the different model homes that you all are talking about? And will we be able to see the different Villages? And the shops and restaurants? What about the pools and clubhouses? Just to view, not to use. Is there a way we can apply for a guest pass so we can look around while we are there? We are only there for 2 nights and had already booked our air when we found out the LSV was sold out.
What do you recommend we really see? We are probably a year away from moving. If we look at homes, will it be like a Timeshare presentation?
We have read both of the books, all 3 if you count Leisureville...and just really love FL. Any info is appreciated.

bumping....since this thread was stuck in moderation status for a couple of hours.

A few answers... you will be able to visit model/open houses, squares, shops, and restaurants.

You will be able to visit but not use rec centers and pools.

If you know any existing residents, they would be able to get you a guest pass. Don't think your agent (if you have one) can do that.

There is NO pressure when looking at houses. Do it on your time and your schedule.

Enjoy your stay.

You must be with a Villages Sales Department agent to get into the model homes gallery. There are open houses each day but they are spread out and you may not see the models you want in a day or two. There is a list of open houses in the the Villages newspaper each day. If you are with a sales rep. they can take you to the model centers and you can view them all at the same time. I'd recommend you hook up with a sales rep. and see if that person can help you get some guest passes. You can walk through the rec. centers without a guest pass but you will want to get one to go to the pools, play tennis or enjoy other athletic activities. I would call the sales office and speak to a sales rep and see what they can do to help you. If you would like the name of our sales rep, who we highly recommend, send me a private message and I'll send you her name and phone number. Enjoy your stay.

Another thought, remember the sales reps are accustomed to being tour guides as well as sales reps. They frequently see their clients many times before they buy but then again many purchase the first time out. TV is so unique that you need a guide to see everything. They will also recommend that you take the tour bus; they depart from the sales centers. As was mentioned, there is absolutely no pressure from the reps. I also recommend that you stay at the Waterfront Inn, it's a few steps from all the action. Good luck.

I would go to the sales office and grab an agent. There is no pressure and they will give the grand tour and best info. It will be hard to believe but its all true . Good luck! Enjoy your stay!

(Bring your checkbook - you might buy sooner than you think!)

You're gonna love TV!

First thing go to the sales center and take the tour. well actually first thing grab a drink. then go take the trolley tour it takes about 45 mins. If it goes to fast grab another drink and take it again. Ask many questions the guides love to answer. The sales center will set you up with all the info you need. We had a great tour guide she is a cheerleader for the villages. Also ask if there are any shows going on. We got free tickets to the University of Wisconsin Signers. Great show. Don't forget grab a drink.

Debra Parks is a great Villages Rep, very experienced and professional. She can answer all your questions, and she won't pressure you at all. She can show you new homes as well as preowned homes listed on VLS.

Cell 352-408-8800.
Villages Sales Office 352-753-4000.

When you return for a longer visit, you'll also want to contact a MLS agent because pre-owned homes are sold both on VLS and MLS.

Good luck, and have fun!

Yikes, how embarrassing. I didn't notice. My mother used to say "The devil finds work for idle hands". I wonder if this is what she meant!
