April Air Purification System

Our neighbor just had the air conditioning folks out today to compalin about dust and see what can be done to filter such things. They explained that when they install systems in homes TV does not pay them to seal around the air ducts so there is a gap, which allows particles from the insulation to enter the ducts and causes the dust / insulation particles to be pumped throughout the home. Weeellllll, first option is to seal the ducts for around $500. and/or install an "April Air System" on the existing unit ( which includes duct sealing) for around $1600. which will eliminate 99% of the particles.
Has anyone had this done? Any information or opinions would be appreciated.

Not sure I agree that gaps are in the log runs but dust wouldn't be drawn into a duct it's a positive pressure (if it leaks it pushes air into the attack)

The intake side of the system has negative pressure which can suck dust into the system, the transition is where a filter goes.

That filter will stop the dust from being circulated.

You need to improve that not seal the ducts, I think they may be trying to seal your wallet$$$$$$$

If that don't work which I think it will then you move to an electronic air cleaner or a Ultra Violet filter, they are about $400 plus installation perhaps $200.

Have the air conditioning vendor prove his assessment by having your dust particles analyzed and compared to the insulation.

We have similar dust in our house and experience very little blinding of the filter. The dust is coming after the filter. The dust appears fibrous and white.
