We have babied our 2005 Thunderbird and only taken it to a mechanic friend here in Orlando. Seeing how it only has 3,100 miles I don't want to go back and forth to Orlando from The Villages for service.

Who do you use that is good and honest and will appreciate me wanting to keep my car in as good a shape after service as when I brought it in.

We have used and have been very happy with Hutson Automotive, 3201 US Highway 441/27, Fruitland Park (352) 728-1454, since 2005. We understand they've been there for close to 30 years. He has both a fondness and knowledge for older cars.

Meredith's auto...very dependable, I have been using him for 13 years.
He is located on c 25 just across from the blue parrot in Lady Lake.
On the historical side of the villages.

Thanks very much. I have used my independant mechanic and neighbor for 7+ yrs. but see no reason to drive it back to Orlando for service once we move to TV in June.

Just curious why you only used such a nice 2005 T-Bird 3,100 miles? I'm a firm believer that if you like something so much, use it and enjoy it, why save it for someone else?

Finish Line on CR-35 (baseline Rd) in Ocala. Bill owns and operates it and is honest and fair as can be. We take both our cars to him and never question what they need. He was a Vo-Tech teacher before starting his business.

It just worked out that way. We did not need 2 cars and lease the other.
We bought it for fun.
It is only 1 of 82 in Inca Gold which was a last minute decision by Ford at the end of the run.
With less than 2 cars per state even people with other Tbirds barely have seen or know about the color. In 2002 Ford made a bright Yellow.
Inca Gold is the rarest of colors.
We do plan on driving more in TV.

Please do drive more and enjoy it! That's what life is about. Hope to see it one day when I'm in The Villages.:coolsmiley:

I have Vaughn owner of Lady Lake Tire and Repair work on my 95 Mustang. 216 Highway 466 ( about 300 yards down from 441 in Lady Lake) He is honest won't "sell" you what you don't need and charges for his time not what Chilton says he should get for the job. I'm so glad I found him!

I have to agree with the other poster who recommend Tri-County Automotive. I just returned from there with my '08 Ford Expedition that had a squeal in one of the brakes. I didn't have an appt but Ritchie told me to come on in if I didn't mind waiting. I got there and left the car. Came back an hour later and Richie told me that I needed new brakes on the rear. He also warned me that the lug nuts were on too tight and they might break when removed. I told him to go ahead and try. The mechanic (nice kid) got the lug nuts loose and proceeded with the brake job. Ritchie looked at the rotors and advised that they be replaced due to excessive rust on same. He gave me the info to make an informed choice but used no pressure. I elected to have the rotors replaced also. The entire bill was $300 including labor and he even upgraded me to ceramic brake pads at no charge. I am more than satisfied with the service and ethics of this business and will go there in the future when the need arises. Great job, guys!!!
