Will there be a new Regional Rec Center (like Seabreeze, Colony Cottage...) south of 466A?

Let's hope one is built south of 466-A........it's already near-impossible to get a lane (even sharing one) for lap swimming at Seabreeze sport pool when classes etc. are done at 3:00 and until closing.

I believe Bradenton near Fernandina will be a regional rec. center.

I think Skip is right!

And, "word" has it that the decor theme will be military - which many of us will appreciate!

We must all remember, though, that what actually happens depends almost wholly on The Developer!

:beer3:He is correct SWR, but I haven't heard about the military theme yet. That doesn't surprise me though, but it would be most appropriate since it's being named after General/President Eisenhower. Hopefully TV will follow through with that theme! It would be nice if they also named one of the rooms the Interstate Room since the "Dwight D. Eisenhower National System of Interstate and Defense Highways" or as more commonly known, the "Interstate Highway System, Interstate Freeway System or the Interstate", was named in his honor!

From the map that was posted, it looks like two Regional Rec Centers: Eisenhower and Lake Deaton. Unfortunately, being located at the two points furthest south on BV and Morse, respectively, means that the load on Colony and Seabreeze will only get worse as development continues. Even with their completions, it will still be closer for many of the occupants of new houses to cross north over 466A to go to Colony and Seabreeze.

Wonder why they chose to place those rec centers at the absolute end of the development. Hmmmmmm.........:icon_wink:

I heard about the military-themed scheme a number of years ago. Believe it was "pushed" be the many military retirees in TV.

I truly hope it will happen!

From my perspective it's pretty much 50/50 for the south of 466a folks when all construction is complete in that area. Also, don't forget that Morse Blvd. will be extended to meet 44 in the not so distant future, and that will shorten the trip for those living near Morse.

Wonder why they chose to place those rec centers at the absolute end of the development. Hmmmmmm.........:icon_wink:

Bill :)Personally speaking, I'm not really concerned as to why of it, and I even really see a big problem with where Eisenhower is gonna be! but that's just me! BTW, wasn't Colony Rec Center even further away from the then development area prior to the start of development south of 466a? Anyway, Eisenhower will be where Eisenhower will be just as Brownwood is where Brownwood is, and nothing short of a catastrophic situation is gonna change that, so IMHO people will just have to adapt, like it or not, and enjoy themselves simply because... well... that's what their here for, to enjoy themselves!

I don't know about rec centers, but there are supposed to be 6 executive golf courses, and 2 more country clubs in addition to Bonifay.

Let's hope that once the rec centers furthest south are completed, folks who live further south will not cross 466A to go to Colony or Seabreaze. It would make more sense to go to rec centers which are less crowed, right?

According to the VCDD Recreation News located in Thursday Daily Sun, Fernandina, Sanibel & Charlotte villages south of 466A is under the Colony Cottage RRC. But this may be subjected to change in the future.
So, don't chase us out yet!!!!:duck:
