Yikes. Just moved from "up north". I called Dr. Fish's office for an appointment and he does not believe in using Armour thyroid. I need to find an endocrinologist pronto who will prescribe Armour. Does anyone here use Armour and, if so, who do they use. Also, I just called my insurance carrier for names of doctors in Florida and it looks like there isn't a FL compatible plan so I am going to have to do some "research" on health insurance. My least favorite subject.

Check on Dr. Chandramohan in Leesburg

(352) 315-1550

Only went to him once for a diabetes check so not really that familiar with him.

Why did you go only once to him? Did you not think he was particularly savvy?

I ended up not having diabetes just insulin resistance. He is a specialist and he released me to be treated by my family doctor.

I was going to Dr. Habershy (endocronologist) here in TV and he refused to keep me on Armour which I have been on for years. He truly screwed up my system to the point where I was losing my hair and had no energy. We had a major argument about his method and I left him and am using my SIL's endo who is in Bradenton (I know a long way off but she is well worth it).. She immediately put me back on the Armour and I have been feeling great for the past 6 months. Went to her for a repeat check up and she was so happy with my results that she doesn't want to see me for a year and she will allow my primary doc to do my 6 months checkup. I'm willing to go that far for a really good doc who you can talk to, after all, it will be only a 1 time a year visit and its nice to take a drive outside TV, especially to visit a really good doc.

Good luck, I hope you find what you want. Armour is the best....

What is wrong with all these doctors? Ridiculous. So when you say Bradenton, do you mean like Sarasota? Please don't tell me you have to go to Sarasota to find a doctor to prescribe Armour...tell me it isn't so.

Well, to be quite frank, I was so disguested with the argument that I had with Habershy that I took the path of least resistance and knew that my SIL's doc believed in Armour so I just went to her for consultation. Loved her so much, I stayed with her. Yes, Sarasota.... but its a nice drive, once a year, and she is so well worth it. Gives me a chance to visit the big outlet mall and see some relatives... sorry, but I would travel to Miami if I felt a doc was worth it.

Good luck,
