Hubby and I are moving to Forsyth Villas this summer. Anyone live there? Any advice or information about the area to share?
Looking for tennis players and knitters, too.
Excited about the move and would love to know more about the general area of Briar Meadow.
Thanks!

Welcome to the neighborhood! We live in Forsyth Villas, too. When are you coming? Will you be full time, snow birds or renters?

After so many years, what follows undoubtedly is of no significance to you, but I always like to add a little historic perspective!
As a part of my very first Lifestyle Preview in September 2004, I stayed for the week in a beautiful villa in the Forsyth Villas neighborhood.
The unit was fully equipped, beautifully decorated and mostly convenient! That said, I shoud relate that, when I arrived, per instructions, at Lake Sumter Landing Market Square well after 8:00 pm on my first night, I had difficulties finding someone to lead me to my lodgings. Once that was accomplished, a Community Watch driver arrived; I was to folow him!
The drive seemed to take forever, and I, of course, wondered what the h*** I'd gotten myslef into! Nevertheless, that first week resulted in my purchase of the lot on which I now live in Sunset Pointe.
Since the Forsyth Villas are at the very northernmost portion of The Villages, you may think yourselves removed from "what's happening," but you may also be pleased with that 'remoteness!'
As in all things, especially in Villages' decisions, you must carefully weigh your options against your "gut!"

Briar Meadow is a great location - Mulberry Rec Center has things going all the time. Being at Forsyth villas you have quick access to all kinds of activities and the springdale trail starts there.

Well, as far as "removed", yes, we are removed from the squares (about 30 minute golf cart ride to Spanish Springs and Sumter Landing), but as far as convenience, there's not much we are lacking. There is a Publix, Walgreens, Beef O'Brady's, Liquor Store, Chinese Food, Pizza, Subway, Beauty Salon, doctor's offices, dentist, physical therapist, VA clinic and gas station all within a 5 minute walk. We have 4 executive golf courses and 3 championship golf courses within a 10 minute golf cart ride. I'm sure I missed a couple more conveniences in the area, but that's what ran through my head without thinking too much about it. It is nice and quiet here. So, it all depends on what your perspective is and what you want to be close to.

on our first trip to the villages....'09...has it been that long? we did enjoy the area....Mulberry is fantastic and there is everything that you need close by. Now if you want to be near the squares, it's quiet a drive by car or cart, but we weren't in a big hurry and found it to be a nice place to stay. I'm sure you'll just love it!!!

I want to thank everyone who was kind enough to respond to my question about Forsyth Villas. We aren't the type who want to dance the night away (although I envy those who do) and I think the "remoteness" will suit us just fine. Looking at other sites, it seems like there is a lot of entertainment available at Savannah, which seems to be fairly close. We changed our plans and will now be moving down in early September. Can't wait to meet all you great Villagers. Again, mant thanks for your responses.
